I just hopped on my local library site. I am looking for some audiobooks for a road trip I am taking to see my mom this weekend. It opens up to a new announcement of hoopla. You can borrow movies, audio books, ebooks, comics, and music. You are then able to immediately stream to your TV if you have a Roku, Chromecast, AppleTV, or a Firestick.
I am always game to having something new. I use Overdrive for my ebooks and audio books. Anyone?

I don't use the app, but I use Hoopla to watch movies on my laptop.

We love Hoopla! I mostly use it for audiobooks but have watched a couple of shows too.

I have it and use it for audiobooks. There's a limit on how many books you can get per month based on your library. My library allows 3. The trade-off is there's no waiting for a book to become available, you can get it instantly.
I haven't used it for movies or anything else so I don't know how it works for those.

I use it for getting Kindle books from the library. I've had it for a couple of years, so I don't remember if it was a problem, but our library offers online help or by phone if you have trouble setting it up.
I love it!

I use Hoopla and Libby from my library to listen to audio books and read ebooks.

I use Libby through my library. But I just checked hoopla and our library allows 15 titles a month. I listen to a lot of audio books since I have a 30 min comment to work

My husband uses it and Overdrive for library ebooks and audiobooks. I don't know if one app does something the other does not, as I don't use it myself.

Well, in looking at my library system, I don't find any movies to watch digitally. They are possibly not that up to date on technology. Unless I am missing something.
With Overdrive I don't have any problems. My library allows up to 5 selections on ebooks or audiobooks.
Thanks all!! I will still continue to look into this.

I love hoopla! I mostly use it to read in bed so that I can have the light off when DH wants to go to sleep before me, but I've used it on my computer to watch movies as well - mostly at the end of the month when I still have borrows left!

I use the Overdrive app for borrowing ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and videos. I haven't looked at videos for a while. The selection was limited the last time I checked.

I use it. I prefer Libby and Overdrive, but if my libraries don't have the books I want then Hoppla often does.
The thing I don't like about it is if I get a phone call or am getting google directions it doesn't pause like Libby and Overdrive do, but other than that it is good.

I don't have the app. I signed up using my desktop computer. I have a library card for a neighboring city, and I use that on my hoopla account.
I watch movies on my desktop. It allows me eight total per month. It can be movies, ebooks, or audio books.
My local library, allows 50 per month. I can't figure out how to watch a movie through their website or the affiliate (libby), so I just do books, and watch movies on hoopla or a read an ebook on hoopla that my Library doesn't have.
I'm not much of a movie watcher. I am an avid reader.

Yes! My kids and I get excited for a new month because our library grants new borrows.

Love hoopla and have been using it for about 3 years now. Sometimes you can find the latest book on there either ebook or audiobook. I like to watch the movies while I paint my nails too. It’s kind of fun to browse to see what they have and don’t have. You never really know lol! Like they had the new hunger games audiobook on there and also lots of kids books.

What a low number. I can check out 12 but I do think movies take up more than one credit.

Apparently my library doesn't use/have hoopla. I listen to books through Overdrive.

I use hoopla for movies and Libby for books. My library allows only 6 titles from hoopla. What I like about it is that you can download content via Wi-Fi on your phone and watch, read, listen elsewhere without regard to your cell plan’s data limits.

I don't love Hoopla but it is very easy. We are also allowed 3 and I think the borrow time is 14 days. At first, I took out 3 books, but didn't finish them all and had to wait for the next month. Plus if you get a dud book (and I feel like I get a lot), you are OOL. You can't return it quickly and get credit. You just have to wait for the next month reboot.
I think the worst thing is the selection. My library doesn't have a great selection. Mostly older books that aren't great.
