I think some of you live in the east county. Stay safe!!
FYI for others - There is a big uncontrolled fire in the East part of San Diego County and temps are supposed to be over 100 today.

Really hoping they can get it under control as I think it’s Tuesday and Wednesday we are supposed to get the Santa Anna winds that really take over and push it fast and cause so much destruction.

Sending good thoughts to the Peas living in my birth city! We're expecting 114+ temps today and tomorrow up here and are subject to rolling blackouts.
Stay safe!

It’s 10:37 am and already 106!! Going to get a lot hotter.
This morning I woke up and realized I’d left the water running on the avocado tree in the front yard. (It was wilting yesterday.)
I felt terrible about the water waste- but I felt better when I went out front to turn it off and saw two wild bunnies and two crows enjoying it!

There’s a 45,000 acre fire outside Yosemite’s south entrance as well. The Ring camera on my place in Wawona shows it’s hazy and somewhat overcast too. Scary.

I’m not in east county, I’m closer to downtown San Diego and we could smell/see smoke in the distance. Ever since the 2003 wildfire this time of year gets me very nervous.

So scary about the fire....but can I say I am so jealous that you have a place in Wawona! That is my dream. We usually go every year to Wawona for the 4th of July. After last year being disappointing (the new management company stinks) we hadn't booked for this year. And then they ended up not even being open because of Covid. It is my happy place. We had our rehearsal dinner at Wawona and got married at the Ahwahnee. I am really hoping that they get the fire under control. We always worry when it is burning near there!

My dad bought the property over 40 years ago, and I bought it from him! I am so lucky, it's always been my happy place too! I read they have asked non residents of Fish Camp and Oakhurst to leave, I'm hoping it's just because they want to keep the roads clear in case there's a mandatory evacuation. Martha
