So I’m a few years behind in PL. I went through photos, printed by year, organized them chronologically and wrote down notes of events/stuff
I have plenty of old kits to use. Mainly SC. I have these organized by year.
I Kind of want to use my 2019 kits for 2019 photos, 2018 kits for 2018 PL....should I break them down and make a giant 2019 kit? Or leave separated by month?
Thoughts? Eventually all the extra stuff will end up in my storage. Which I need to reorganize but that’s a other project!

I don't do PL so my advise might not be as helpful but I think I would put the Jan 2019 kit with the Jan 2019 photos and the Feb 2019 kit with the Feb 2019 photos and so on. And then work on one month at a time. It seems to me that one big kit for a whole year might be overwhelming but working on a month at a time might be more manageable.

I don't have any monthly kits, but I do work faster/better with limited supplies. So I would keep them by month but allow myself to look out side of the box if needed for embellishments. My goal would be to kill the kit each month. I'd keep all the extras in one place, adding to the leftovers each month. I'd go there if I needed extras throughout the year.

I would pick a kit you like, kill it/use as much of it as you possibly can whilst complimenting it with bits from your stash, and then move on - whether that’s by putting the leftovers into your stash or in the trash.
I’d advise against putting leftovers into your stash though, as they’ll just sit there forever.

I would keep the kits separate and work by month/year with them. Eventually I would end up combining the leftovers into my regular stash. But obviously there is no right or wrong way to scrapbook!

When I subscribed to Ali's Stories By The Month kit, I found it so convenient to use the monthly kit for the month it was created for, and to not overthink it or go searching for more "perfect" supplies from my stash. I kept just the kit and basic supplies with my album. I stayed caught up, ended up using almost the entire kit each month, and it was enjoyable and not overwhelming. So, that's what I would suggest - open a kit, use it for a month, and move on to the next.

I would take the photos and workIng by month, put them in page protectors. Because until then you don’t know how many cards/supplies you’ll need. Then when I’m looking for the materials to go in those slots I’d start with the month that they are, but then expand my search to other areas. But I’m more interested in my book being how I want it to be than in forcing myself to use up cards.
I don’t know, my cards are organized in a drawer by manufacturer by months. I do look first in the month the photos are from, then I look by theme or color.

I wouldn't mix all the kits together, at least not at first. They wouldn't be cohesive and that would be A LOT to dig through. Also, a lot of the embellishments are seasonal/themed for the month (as long as you're in the northern hemisphere). For example, New Years + fresh start motifs show up in the January kit and fall colors + motifs often show up in the October kit. They also have a monthly word in each kit that corresponds to the correct month and matches across the year (at least for the last couple of years). I would suggest starting with your January photos and the January kit. When you use up enough of the kit that you are struggling to find pieces to use, add in the February kit. Ideally you will be near your February photos at that point anyways. Then keep going until you work into the March kit, etc.

I would leave them divided by months for now. Use July kit for July photos. This is similar to what I do now.

Thanks for the feed back! I’m going to keep the kits together and then put together a bin for “extras” from used kits, per year.
This does make me rethink how I want to store extra cards and stuff. Not sure breaking down the kits has really worked for me. Hm.
