As usual, I am late to the party. I am way behind on the trends that all of you have been using for years. Ha.
Lately, I have been loving the look of enamel dots (or in my case faux enamel dots from Dollar Tree). I am primarily a card maker, but I do occasionally do smash books, travelers notebooks and other paper projects. I mention this because I never purchase complete scrapbooking collections, just bits and pieces here and there and never the embellishments.
I would like to build a stash of random color and themed enamel dots to be used in my projects. I found one package at Tuesday Morning, but that TM is almost empty, so it’s no longer an option.
i’d love to know everyone’s favorite places to purchase enamel dots. Someplace with a good variety, good prices and affordable shipping would be a plus. And if there’s any difference in the brands I’d like to know about that too.
(If this has been discussed before, links would be appreciated, too!)

I bought a ton of enamel dots from Eyelet Outlet when they were at the Scrapbook Expo. Their prices are really good because some of the "name brand" ones can be $4 or more for the dots.

Gina Marie Designs! Some of the best prices I’ve found. Her dots are awesome colors, tons to choose from, and under $3 a set!

The majority of mine have come from Freckled Fawn at deeply discounted rates (like $1/sheet). Tuesday Morning is good too, if you have access to them.

I especially like the transparent ones that look like water drops or glass, and the matte dots are also nice. I have ordered from her twice, great customer service and last time she included a free set of dots

Eyelet Outlet (prices are better at the expos vs online) Echo Park - watch for sales on their site or pick up at expos) Gina Marie Simple Stories I also make my own using Nuvo drops.
They really are the perfect finishing touch!

I make mine from perla beads. You bake them in the oven. It was a big thing a few years ago. I made hundreds of them!

How do you make your own? Nuvo drops I went and watched some YouTube videos on making them. So pretty! But I’d want to buy a whole bunch of bottles. Ha. And then I’d end up with a bunch of dried up bottles of Nuvo drops. LOL

The beads seem to be such bright colors. I’d like some pastel colors, too. I haven’t done much research to see if other more muted color beads exist. Thanks.

Are people still buying them on that website from China? Forgot the name Perhaps you are referring to AliExpress. I've never purchased from the site, so am uncertain about the overall quality of enamel dots/other products or potential ordering/shipping issues during the pandemic.

Yes, there are some really pretty, toned down colors you can get. They also have some striped ones that melt down and look like candy. I even got some mini ones at Michaels, so I cab have smaller dots. I don't have photos, but from what I remember, it works best with actual Perler beads, not off brands. I also found that different colors melt at different rates, so I only melted one color at a time. Some tutorials said to bake them on parchment, but when I did that, they were hard to release. Worked much better on a Tim holtz craft mat.

I just ordered several packages of enamel dots from Gina Marie designs. I’m looking forward to receiving them.
I think I’m going to try the Perler beads too. I was worried about baking them in my oven because of the fumes and I have three dogs. As it turns out, we have a toaster/ toaster oven that we both hate. As soon as I find a new toaster that we both like, I can use the old one (out on the back deck) to melt the beads.
For those that use the melted beads as enamel dots, what adhesive do you use to adhere them?

I stick them down with those small glue dots that are meant for bling.

...For those that use the melted beads as enamel dots, what adhesive do you use to adhere them? While I've never used melted beads, I've found Zots Bling (minuscule tiny adhesive dots by Therm O Web) adheres pre-made enamel dots that don't want to stick for whatever reason.

I’ve done a few group buys from Ali Express. The quality is the same as any others you might buy under a name brand.
