I have a Cricut Expression that is oh probably 8 years old. A store near us has the Expression 2 on sale for $149, and I have a few gift cards for there so I could get it for about $59. Would it be worth getting? Thoughts?

I had the Create and went straight to the E2. I did a search to find out which one I should get. I found that the E2 cuts better. Also you use a screen instead of keypad. Though this past year I've been using the Cricut Craft Room since that screen on the E2 is small. It does have a zoom button for the screen, I just like the fact I can arrange stuff on my mat way better in CCR.

I went from the original baby bug to the E2. I love the E2. It really is easy to learn how to use and I really like using the touchscreen.

I went from the original expression to the e2. I like having the screen and using the cricut craft room. other than that, it's as good as the old version.

For me there isn't enough difference between the two. If I were to get something else I would want to upgrade to an Explorer or Cameo.

The Expression 2 definitely cuts better detailed cuts than the older Cricuts. I have the original Expression and the Expression 2. It would be worth the $59 IMO.

I love my E2. I kept my Expression for sentimental reasons but I'm leaning toward getting rid of it. The only thing I like better about the original E is it's easier to position the cutter on the mat. Other than that, the E cuts much better and I love being able to see exactly where I'm cutting. $59 is an excellent price.

$59 sounds like it would be worth it, especially if you don't want to be internet dependent. The Explore seems to be a better machine from all the videos and articles I've been reading, but you must be connected to the internet to use it.
I also have an Expression and am upgrading to a better machine (probably the Cameo) really soon. I think I really need two new machines (I can see DH rolling his eyes now). . .

Is it really $59? You said you have gift cards - if you don't use them for the E2, will they expire or otherwise go unused? If not, then you're really not getting it for $59. I have the original Expression (which I use with SCAL2), and I've been in the market for a new cutter for over a year now. The E2 never even made my list, because I don't see it doing enough more than my current Expression, and I wouldn't have the ability to cut svg files with it. I was leaning toward the Silhouette, but just this morning got a great deal on the Explore and went with that. I hadn't been interested in the Explore when it first came out, because I was annoyed with PC for suing SCAL and MTC and I didn't want a machine that was totally internet based, but I've heard enough favorable reviews on the cutting ability of the Explore that now that it has print and cut I went for it. I'm keeping my Expression, though, because one can't have too many electronic cutters.
