Why does my paper warp when I use gesso on it?
I tried regular Bazzill textured paper, as well as heavier non-textured paper. I am so frustrated!
Any suggestions for another brand of clear gesso? I have been trying Ranger Dina Wakley Media Clear Gesso.

Gesso has water in it, so it'll still warp your paper a bit. When it dries though, it'll help prevent the paper from warping further. It's not made for paper. It's made to use on canvas to give it tooth, to help the paint stay where you put it and not bleed into the fabric. You could try taping your paper down to your work surface as you would with watercolor paper. Or you could try weighing it down with books after it dries. There was another thread about that today here.
ETA, if you want to avoid using gesso altogether, you could paint and create mixed media art on illustration board. It's thicker and more expensive, available in large sheets at art supply stores. But it's stiff and thick and heavy and not really suited to scrapbooking at all.

That's always happened to me, too. I just figure its part of the process though I could be wrong. When I do it, I tend to use a lot. I like the effect, love grasp on my pages and in my art journal too. Maybe someone else has suggestions. Just wanted to tell you it happens to me, too.

You can run it through your laminator or iron it (put a pillowcase or something over it to keep from burning the paper).

Here's a video about stretching watercolor paper. You might want to try her water brushing techniques before adding your gesso. This is the method I would use when I did watercolor, but I've never tried it with gesso and acrylics. I've never made anything large or important (to me) with acrylic on paper, so I always just let it warp and try to flatten it after the fact.
