In honour of World Cardmaking Day, we will be playing CARDtober all month, right on this board! Each day of October, there will be a new card challenge to try.
If you want to join a Challenge Team HERE, you can earn points for your team for every card you create and a bonus for doing them ALL!

I am planning to participate as many of the CARDtober challenges as I can. I’ve done every CARDtober challenge the last two years, but that will probably be overly optimistic for me this year.
With DH having back surgery in October, I don’t think I’ll want to deal with counting points. These last couple of months have been overwhelming as it is. I won’t be joining a team this year. I’m sorry.
I’ll really be looking forward to the challenges, though. Card making is my therapy. I absolutely love CARDtober!

It would be great if you did this on the Challenges board since that’s where it actually belongs.

It would be great if you did this on the Challenges board since that’s where it actually belongs. I think that grammadee will add it there when October 1 arrives, but I think it belongs here. CARDtober challenges have always been posted here. I think that CARDtober first began a couple of years ago on this board as a way to get this board moving when it was a bit stagnant. I also think that grammadee was the one who started it. Every year someone seems unhappy about the CARDtober posts on this board. I’m sorry when anyone feels that way, but this board is relatively slow the rest of the year. It certainly doesn’t move as fast as the general scrapbooking board, and it’s not that hard to scroll past the CARDtober posts. However, you are cheating yourself if you skip CARDtober posts, even if you have no interest in doing any of the challenges. Between the host and the participants, a variety of cards are posted in the thread for each challenge. The cards are well worth looking at. It’s a good way to see ideas, products, and techniques that you might not be familiar with. I often end up wanting to buy products someone has used, or I learn a new technique that I had not seen before. I think CARDtober is uniquely suited to this board. If you have ignored it because you have no interest in the challenge aspect, you may have shortchanged yourself. There are multiple hosts, and participation is open to everyone, so the styles, techniques, stamps, and tools showcased in the cards posted can vary quite a bit.

It would be great if you did this on the Challenges board since that’s where it actually belongs. Why not post it here, this is the stamping/card making board after all. I can’t remember ever looking at the challenge board but I do enjoy seeing the cards posted during CARDtober.
