do you have one? Do you use it often? What all do you cook in it? I am in need of a new toaster oven. I do use one all the time and the one I have isn't working the best anymore. Costco has one going on sale next week. It's a Cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven combined and looks like a good size for two people. I'm strongly thinking about getting one but wonder if I would use the air fryer very much. Reading on line about it all they talk about is chicken wings and nuggets.I could sure use some advice please.

I just bought one. It looks like a giant bubble. I have made tater tots and a few other things. I am going to try to broil a steak tonight. I don’t need recipes...I want to adapt what I already know how to make. I saw a few cookbooks, but they are mostly very specific recipes.

I have two and use them both. One is a toaster oven style from Walmart (farberware brand, about $80) and I use it almost daily. I make any kind of frozen breaded thing (chicken strips, shrimp, tater tots, etc) in it as well as steak, pork chops, bacon, roasted cauliflower, roasted aparagus, and more that I'm probably forgetting. I also bake cakes, brownies, biscuits, etc in it in the summer when I don't want to turn my big oven on. Almost anything that can be cooked in the oven can be cooked in it. I found a 9 x 13 cake pan that fits in it and a bundt pan that fits in it.
I also have a basket style that I don't use as often. I use it for roasted green beans, brussels sprouts, baked potatoes, and anything else that can go in a smaller fryer. I have a little cake pan for it but I haven't actually used it for cake. My basket style is a nuwave brio from kohls (I can't remember what I paid but it was probably less than $100).

I asked about them here during the summer as I had 2 friends purchase air fryers. The consensus seemed to be that they are similar to a convection oven, which I already have - plus I also have a convection toaster and microwave. So i passed on the purchase. My two friends have since returned their air fryers. I’m sure people who use them love them. If my ovens are similar I wasn’t interested in adding a large appliance.

It seems like the air fry and the convection settings are pretty much the same. I think for me, a selling point was that it comes with a basket. I know you can buy after-market baskets but you might sacrifice some size since it's unlikely it would be exactly the size of the oven. I like that the basket slides in, so there's room underneath it for the air to circulate. Plus our old toaster oven and microwave do not have convection features (our big oven does but the goal is to never turn that heat monster on during the summer).

We got one in the spring and my kids literally use it almost every single day to cook chicken. Nothing fancy but better and quicker than the oven. I've done vegetables, bacon, fries. Again nothing fancy but we have totally already got our money worth out of it.

We've had our air fryer for years. It's our most used appliance. Yes it's basically a mini convection oven, BUT you don't have to pre-heat it and it doesn't heat up your whole kitchen. This past Summer we upgraded to the Ninja Foodi Grille. It bakes, grills and air frys.

I have the Costco toaster oven style one. I wasn’t super impressed with it, and was going to return it (took 6 minutes to make toast), but, my teenage athletes love to use it for chicken nuggets, reheating fries, etc. I am keeping it just for this purpose. We will have gotten our money’s worth from it in the next 2 years while they are at home and eating like crazy. I like that they can make their own food quickly. After that, I will probably pass it on.
And, someone here suggested the lightly breaded chicken nuggets from Costco, and we LOVE them! DS eats them almost every day.

I have one now, a Brio with a rotissorie. IDK it does all the same stuff my convection oven does and to me this is another applicance I have to take apart and clean.
Nothing in it comes out any better than the other ways I cook these foods. I guess its good if you don't want to heat up the kitchen during the summer.

I have a Pampered Chef one. The basket is awesome for tator tots/fries. I haven't used the rotisserie yet but it only handles up to 4lbs. I've toasted bagels (nice for multiple at a time), made chicken drumsticks, reheated pizza.
It is basically a convection oven - so if you have one of those, you really don't need an air fryer. If you don't, then it's convenient for not heating up the kitchen

I had two air fryers for some time. In June I donated them and got a Ninja Foodi and a Ninja Foodi Grill. They both air fry as well as bake, roast, grill and much more. Since I got my Ninjas my oven has gone into retirement. I use the oven for storage and purchased a wooden top from amazon for the top of the stove. I keep my most used seasons on it. Also got the Ninja Hot & Cold blender. Love all of my Ninja products.

I have a basket style (Cosori) and if I had room for the oven style I would probably do that instead.
I go through spurts of using it more and right now we use it for the Costco nuggets (so good), sweet potato fries, roasted veggies (I make roasted zucchini several times a week to eat with lunch), reheating pizza, marinated chicken thighs. I also make a low carb pizza "bowl" for myself that is super yummy.

We had the huge egg shaped air fryer but hated using it. Cumbersome to clean and took up so much counter space so we kept it stored under the sink cabinets. We then bought a toaster oven/air fryer from Amazon. It replaced our old toaster oven and the air fryer. We use it daily for all kinds of things. Best small appliance purchase we have made in a long time.

I have one that has three racks. My daughter uses it the most. We make things like egg rolls, wontons, frozen hash browns, fries, baked potatoes/sweet potatoes, and chicken wings. We've cooked bacon, burgers, chicken breasts. It's great for reheating leftovers. I bought mine when it was the TSV on QVC and don't regret it.

I have a basket style air fryer and use it almost every day. I love that it roasts vegetables without heating up my kitchen and it is much better than the food I get out of the oven.

We have the Emeril one, and we love it. Roasted potatoes, pork tenderloin, and salmon fillets are three of our favorite things to make.

I got one this summer because it was so hot outside and I didn’t want to turn on my oven. I’ve tried burgers, fried okra, frozen pizza, etc.
The only thing we consistently use it for is chocolate chip cookies. They make them soft inside but crispy on top {delicious}.
I don’t regret buying it but will put it away in the cabinet in a few weeks when it gets cooler and I can use my oven more. Definitely wasn’t the game changer I had hoped for.

I have a smallish basket type air fryer that my DDs BF got me for Christmas last year. It’s mostly used for a single or double serving of things like French fries, tots, egg rolls, etc. I have done roasted potatoes/veggies too. I have not cooked meat. I know dd uses it for wings, but that’s meat already cooked that just needs heated up.
It’s best feature is time, for the main reason it doesn’t take time to heat up like the oven.

We moved from a traditional air fryer with the little basket to more of a toaster oven looking one. It can air fry, broil, bake...etc. We literally use it daily, even more than the traditional air fryer. It's so nice not to need to heat up the oven for little things. DH loves baked potatoes and makes then a few times a week. They cook perfect in our little oven. Frozen pizza, air fried french fries, the kids make their lunches on a regular in it. I couldn't imagine not having it.

I used mine ALL the time for heating up leftovers and for cooking frozen food type stuff. I haven't 'cooked' from scratch anything in it yet.. but I LOVE it...... leftovers 99% of the time turn out to taste as fresh as when it is put in front of me for the first time. Frozen foods all cook up great. I am thinking about getting rid of my toaster oven but haven't pulled that plug yet.

I have the Ninja Foodi 5-in-1 Indoor Grill with Air Fryer, Roast, Bake & Dehydrate. I don't air fry very frequently since I got it, but I really plan on using it the most for the grill this winter. We grill - a lot. Soon the weather will be turning too cold and wet to grill outside on the deck. We bought this same model for our daughter and she loves it. She air fries Costco preseasoned chicken wings and says it does and even better job than her oven. She uses it to grill, too and says burgers are really good, plus it doesn't get as smokey (and set off her smoke alarms) as her old indoor electric grill did.

A few months ago we got the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven - it's a toaster oven that also air fries, bakes, etc. When cool, it also flips up if counter space is an issue (which it is for us). It's expensive (over $200) but I really hated the new toaster oven we got, which was only around $50 less. It didn't even toast well. Well, I love this darn thing. We do at lot of sheet pan meals on it using its "Air Broil" setting. It toasts 9 slices of bread -- and pretty darn well for a toaster oven. My son can cook a frozen pizza that comes out better than our oven. Or even from scratch pizza. I've only done a handful of actually air fried items with the basket...frozen french fries, chicken nuggets, etc and they've been great but I absolutely love it for roasted vegetables, steaks, even pork tenderloins. One complaint I saw in reviews was that it doesn't have a lot of clearance. You couldn't roast a chicken in it. And the pan and air fry basket are square which is different. But I really do love it. I said love a lot of times. No, I don't work for Ninja.

I have a different non-digital Cuisinart model at the lake cabin and we can cook a pizza from frozen solid to done in eight minutes flat. We use it for something pretty much every weekend we’re there. I have a convection oven at home that isn’t even fully heated up in eight minutes. We’ve been talking about getting another one for home because we like the one we have at the cabin so much, so I’ll probably buy the digital Cuisinart that Costco has on sale starting tomorrow. It’s great for all kinds of convenience frozen foods (pizza, mozzarella sticks, loaded potato skins, fish sticks or breaded filets, breaded chicken filets or nuggets, french toast sticks, frozen waffles, French fries, tater tots, etc.) We also use it to toast bagels, multiple pieces of bread or cheese bread, warm up focaccia bread or other dinner loaves. We haven’t really used ours to bake anything yet but like that we have the option when it’s hot out to not heat up the kitchen with the big oven.

thanks everyone for all your help. My toaster oven is about to give up, I've used it so much, so I think I will have my grandson go to Costco and get me a new one tomorrow. Looking forward to the air fryer> I know we will enjoy it.

A few months ago we got the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fry Oven - it's a toaster oven that also air fries, bakes, etc. When cool, it also flips up if counter space is an issue (which it is for us) I recently bought the Ninja too and I love it so much that I bought a second one for our cabin. I bought them with 30% off at Kohl's. I love that it flips up and give you counter space when it's not in use. I had the bubble style air fryer and found it not as useful-I couldn't cook a pizza in it. In the Ninja, I have baked pizza, created sheet pan meals, warmed frozen items and made cookies. It is so versatile that I keep talking about it with my friends and I have to say that I don't work for Ninja either. LOL.
