Kelly Purkey Rebranding and Shop--Now called Paper Person

From the looks of things + based on being a subscriber of hers for years:

Normal: digital cards / stamps e-mailed for subscriptions, discount for subscribers, early access to purchase

New: monthly sub has 12x12 paper, also the usual "cut cards" are a 12x12 you cut yourself

I'm not sure, but I assume, subscribers will be able to combine shipping up until XXX as was a previous perk.

I wonder how the 12x12 papers to cut up yourself will affect the weight of the cards. Will they be regular PP weight now? That makes me less excited.

Paper Person is a reference to The Office's Dunder Mifflin company, I believe, JavaJones . I posted the Dunder Mifflin ad song in the DD thread.

ETA: I didn't get an email from KP about her new shop. Found out about it through dawnnikol. Weird.

I didn’t get the email but I can’t really see the point in the rebrand - did she cover anything about it in the email?

I guess perhaps it makes sense if in the future she will offer kits and products made by other designers.

Maybe I’m being sour grapes but it seems like much ado about nothing at this point, after all the speculation and wonder when she said she was closing her shop.

Of course the designs kick ass though, because it’s Kelly and she’s awesome. Just not sure what the point for rebranding was.

Yes, I am looking forward to that election kit. I'd better go over my budget for the 15th - election kit and holiday kits are going to be dangerous for me!

You're probably right.

Usually when people rebrand, it's because they are really shaking up their offering and launching something new and fresh.

This looks like Kelly Purkey to me, nothings changed. Still doing awesome product, still doing subscriptions and then add on kits.

Kelly Purkey Shop was working just fine for her, except for the lousy customer service. But that is so, so easily fixed - employ some people to take care of the day to day.

She's free to do whatever she wants, of course, and her product is fantastic so people will buy it, regardless of what it's called. And the good thing is that she's not going away, which for people who purchase from her regularly, is a real plus.

I hope she will do more to increase her offering going forward, to make the rebrand worth it.

Ah yes, it was only a few weeks ago that Pinkfresh announced Kelly would be designing a collection for/with (still not sure which one of those) them and we lost our shite with excitement. I think we assumed that was what was next for her.

I think Covid-19 has railroaded us all. Ah well, if this means we can enjoy some Kelly designs for a bit longer, I'm okay with that. I don't purchase from her really but I do enjoy the vibe and hype for her products.

So, based on how KP works, the mini-kits will be available for separate (non-sub) purchase?

TY. I've not subbed to her before but I'm tempted. The only thing giving me pause is that it says they can go out of stock even on subbers and then they will get the next kit(s) until they meet their sub requirement. I would like this one, but if there's no guarantee, not sure what the point is.

I’m not very happy with the direction her kits are going. To me, one size fits all means one size fits none. I have no desire for a kit with pieces from other collections in it. Nor do I want to cut apart my journal cards. Boo.

I don't mind cutting apart the paper. I do think it will be thinner than the usual journaling cards, but I was also fine with purchasing the "Hey Santa" paper that I would've cut to use and that paper isn't on the thick side either.

I like that she's mixing it up with other collections because that opens it up for me to purchase more from those other collections, similar to SC scrapbook kit. I easily could've done this before, but I hope this means her colors are more true to the collection and not the questionable red issues we have sometimes (not her necessarily, just generally speaking).

I love her alphas. I know I will get more than 2 A's in a sheet.

I enjoy having bigger stamps. 4x6 stamp is a big seller for me.

The SC does have more embellishments, but let's be real. We complain about those reruns all the time. There was also the conversation about plastic type waste, too.

I agree the rebrand was a combination of taking the focus off KP and the Covid killing her other travel job, but I'm happy she's back in whatever capacity. I'll cross my fingers and toes the customer service issues have also been resolved.

ETA: I'm not an Office person, so I didn't get the reference.  I assumed it was more a "this isn't just for girls" type thing?  I could've been reading way more into it than you're supposed to..  Maybe also not just scrapbooking, but just paper.  /shrug  We could talk about it all day, I think.. I do hope there's more info though.  I think the reason I received the initial e-mail was I was a previous kit subscriber and all other newsletter subscribers will receive an e-mail tomorrow.  

I'm subbing for the mere reason I love her kits and am hopeful they'll have a similar look and feel like her other kits. And I'm hopeful the people she brings in will inject some new views as well.

Even if it's not SPECIFICALLY an Office reference, I like the Easter Egg anyway!
