I'm stumped. We're getting a Golden Retriever puppy in a month and I have no clue what to name him. I think part of my problem is I thought my last dog's name was perfect so I can't think of anything. I've thought of
Winston Howie Hunter
Those are my best but ehh, Winston would be my top pick but....still don't think I like any of those...
HELP!

Murphy if he is sweet and obnoxious.
Riley if he thinks he is smarter than you.

I have a friend who just got a new puppy who was called Franklin... which is also the name of the school our kids go to. Really cute. I love giving dogs "real" names.. ours is called Patrick. We call him P.Diddy for short.

We have Riker.
I really liked the names Flynn, Monty and Bosley, but they were voted down.

They also considered Jasper and Ranger.

What's wrong with naming him (Last Dog's Name) II? All of my great-aunt's dogs were called JC (her DH's initials). My friends who just got a black lab puppy named him Colby. They also thought about Finn.

We've had two boy Goldens that are unfortunately no longer with us. They both had what I thought unique but totally fitting names. Bosun and Kelby. Bosun is the name for a petty officer on a merchant ship. He went by Bo most of the time. Kelby was named for a creek that my inlaws lived on.
Now we have a Puggle named Toby.

My aunt had a golden retriever named Carmichael. He was such a good dog! And the name just fit his grand personality!

They also thought about Finn. I'd like to but the family's in a uproar about that one. Guess there was just one Tucker. Finn... was also thinking of Finley. I think the worst thing about this is we are such "word association" people. Like Colby - cute name but I'd always be thinking Colby Cheese... Murphy - that's cute... can't you see a big fluffy golden...Muurrrrrrphyyyyy.. .

We have a Finnegan. When he was a puppy, my husband would call him Finnegan Shitagain. Thankfully potty training didn't take too long.

My friend has a goldendoodle named Winston. The dog is a big goof and Winston is way too dignified for their dog. I also like human names for dogs and if yours has any tinge of red, I'd be inclined to name him after a certain beloved highlander, Jamie <3.
Or maybe Sampson which in my house would probably be shortened to Sam or Sammy.

My dog is named Digby, which was coincidentally the name of the Golden Retriever on the show "Pushing Daisies". I miss that show.

Our good friends have a very sweet, goofy, lovable five year old Golden that I named MacGyver, after the old TV show starring Richard Dean Anderson as the guy who could make anything out of duct tape and a Swiss Army knife. We call him "Mac" mostly and he is one of my all time favorite dogs!
