No time to scrap? Post your October photos in this thread.
If you are on an October TEAM: One point for each photo posted. Two points if you use that photo on a page at some time this month.
Oh, and if your photo includes something that was a SURPRISE, count an extra point!

Mini fig cakes for the win today. Does the surprise theme count if part of the batch will be dropped of at my mother's as a surprise treat, grammadee?

Wow, sleepingbooty, those look delicious! I like figs but never quite know how to "deal" with them to use them in my own cooking.

Just make your regular batter (I made a yoghurt and olive oil batter here), add spices you enjoy with figs (I simply grated some cinnamon), pour into a muffin pan and quarter your fresh figs to plop them in there. It's lazy baking, truly. The figs will sweeten and get a bit syrupy during baking which creates just that extra bit of sweet oomph when you sink your teeth into a cake.

I love the sound of that cake!!

My father-in-law has a fig tree and always has an abundance of figs and I haven't found a recipe that we like for them. I will definitely have to try this out! We jokingly call September fig month because you've got to come up with loads of ways to eat them. We love them in the oven with goat cheese, in mini fig cakes, in salads and with prosciutto and a balsamic reduction. Oh, and of course, in yoghurt with a touch of honey and some walnuts.

Finally there is enough space for me to attach a photo. This one has an element of surprise because my DGD can climb up on the slide and go down by herself, forward and on her stomach. She is just growing too fast. She's 21 months now and the joy of my days.

Mini fig cakes for the win today. Do you think these could be made with plums instead of figs? I'd give ripe but still firm plums a go. There may be more moisture to deal with when it bakes (maybe cut the plums in 6 parts rather than quarters?) but it's definitely worth a try!

We took so many photos of Dgd this past Sunday at the 18th c farm site where we volunteer. This one was my favorite.

Cute! I am glad those spiders are a happy orange. If they were more realistic looking I don't think I would want your "web" in MY house !

So a couple of weeks ago, our temperatures dived and we had a snowfall:enough to cover our whole yard. Then this week all the snow was gone again as if it had never been. But today: BOO! It’s ba-ack..,
