To me Trump sounded nasally and when he was walking he seemed stiff, almost like how I have walked when I had bronchitis and early pneumonia.

I was reading a bit about the regeneron cocktail study. It was really aimed at those early in the disease progression, those with little immune response yet had very good results as it kicked started their immune system potentially reducing complications and hospitalizations - although study was really too small and average age too young to be too definitive. I'm wondering if they transferred him so that he could obtain plasma from prior patients as well - I'm guessing they're doing everything possible to show short disease with few complications.

I'm not convinced that he's not actually in a car being driven there while everyone looks at Marine1 on the south lawn. I swear I said the EXACT.SAME.THING to DH. Now we know he flew out, but that was exactly my thought at first.

If he pulls out of quickly and then has the nerve to say it’s just like flu after getting every medical treatment possible.... Well, I was going to say that would be some nerve. Then I remembered who I was taking about.

Yeah, the video and the self-walk out to Marine One point more toward my skeptical view of things above than of any dangerous illness so far. all the speculation on MSNBC was that the pre-recorded video (filmed by someone, in the Dish Room at the WH) and the walk to/from Marine One were 'proof of life' type videos. To show that he's okay. We have no idea how many times they had to film that 15 seconds of video, or what they had to go thru to get a good take. They didn't let any journalists see him at close range or ask him questions to see how he's REALLY doing in-person. Is it too callous of me to think I hope he's scared shitless by all the hospital staff wearing the FULL PPE (full gowning, masks, face shields, etc.) when they work around him?? At least they *better* be wearing it. If he says he doesn't want them to around him... could he do that? I hope not! I heard them talking on MSNBC about the Presidential suite at Walter Reed- basically one whole floor of the place, that has office / meeting space, a kitchen for his own chef, etc. etc. HOW MUCH MORE MONEY is his stupidity and arrogance going to cost all of US, the taxpayers?!?

I would like to know why NBC thought we needed to watch an hour of trump riding in a helicopter and then hopping into a car tonight on the news instead of actual news about what happened in the world.
The president has mild symptoms of coronavirus and was transferred to a hospital because he is panicking about it. Ok, that’s all well and good, and I hope he gets excellent care, and they can ease his anxiety over his diagnosis.
But really? An HOUR of a helicopter and car transport? Did nothing else happen in the world today? The fires are still raging in California, the stock market fell (correct me if I’m wrong I was at work forever today), Chrissy tegan had a miscarriage yesterday and social media proved itself to be full of the worlds biggest assholes, etc. None of those things were worth focusing on or talking about for even five minutes? All that was worth seeing was trump in a helicopter?
This country is ridiculous.

It would have been shortly before I posted. He said the source was MSNBC, but I'm not seeing it, so at this point, I don't know anymore. Apologies.

I hope he comes out of this with a new understanding of the virus and what it is like for people who have it. Most of us wouldn’t be able to go to the hospital if we were just fatigued or panicking about our symptoms. Most people suffer at hoke until they are literally on deaths door because of cost or availability at the hospital.
A friend who is a die hard trump supporters posted —“if it is so easy to get the virus despite all of the precautions that are out in us, maybe we don’t need to have the precautions after all.” Uh....which precautions does he follow besides getting tested daily?

If they would have known when he'd walk outside, they perhaps wouldn't have spent so much time waiting. But I'll be honest, I NEVER watch the 24 hour news channels as they drive me utterly insane - but I tuned in to see how he looked. Whether the president is currently capable of walking as he's currently being transported to the hospital is pretty newsworthy.

They also said if she were contacted, national security wouldn’t allow her to say anything. I know we all hate Trump, myself included. But this is bigger than his orange Oompa Loompa ass. We live in a post 9/11 world; our enemies are for sure watching and watching closely. His asshole self has for sure out is in danger in so many ways and I hate it.

Bingo. Ten days from today is Oct 12. They set the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings to begin Oct 12 because they want Barrett out of committee no later than Oct 22, and onto the Senate floor. At that point McConnell opens hearings in the full Senate in a day or two. Hearings usually take three to four days, maybe a bit longer if there’s controversy. So no later than end of Oct they’ll be voting. McConnell wants this done before Nov 3 come hell or high water. At least that’s the plan. We don’t know yet what the Dems have in mind as to how they can delay, if they can.

I think the main reason Trump went to Walter Reed was so he could walk out on his own. He and his advisors didn't want to wait until he had to be wheeled out because it would look so bad for his campaign. And really it would rattle markets even further so it is probably the best thing they could do strategically and for his health.
It is just so maddening that he gets over the top healthcare and wants to strip healthcare from the rest of us.

I read somewhere that an MSNBC host asked Pelosi about the continuity of government and she said basically it's always in place. So really wasn't about someone reaching out to her.
