If TP (Tangerine Palpatine for those following at home) grants Pence temporary 25th transfer of power and Pence uses that time to pardon TP, what happens to that pardon if TP is able to resume powers? Can't pardon someone who has not been convicted of anything, so that should help. That’s what I’ve been thinking. But I’ve been reading a lot of people saying Pence could pardon him for future charges. That went against what I learned in law school but who knows in this time and age.

Meh. I think it’s possible the doctor meant to say “72 hours since the start of symptoms.” (Anything the patient reported after diagnosis, like the observed lethargy and raspiness, would start the clock.) - Also, wouldn’t whoever administered a positive test days ago have to report results to some medical supervisor? -And even if that chain of medical command broke down, and the president schemed to keep a positive status secret, why would he have let his doctor in on the ruse? Secrets are secret, and this one’s a doozy. -And if he did, weirdly, let a (so, unethically complicit) doctor in on the ruse, would that complicit doctor then “out” the ruse in a public statement? Doesn’t add up in either direction, which is why I’m thinking mistake. Would I put it past the president? No. I’m having trouble with the medical people involved. Who would this be? I think that the White House keeps the physicians (and test administrators) who work there/with them very tightly under control. HIPAA allows that. Per HIPAA, they (medical personnel) legally cannot disclose any medical information (including test results) to anyone without the permission of the individual. I, personally, find it telling that Barr travelled to the White House today and yesterday to take COVID tests. Why go there to take COVID tests unless you knew that the results would not be told to anyone else (or leaked)? There have to be other more convenient places to take a COVID test. Security to get into the White House is a bitch. You would think that Barr would have a variety of places to get tested. www.cnn.com/2020/10/03/politics/william-barr-coronavirus-quarantine/index.htmlWho would the medical supervisors be? Dunno. I assumed a fed employer screening program would have to be supervised by a skilled fed agency. Can they just buy a bunch of tests, hire a tech and contract with a lab? The results go directly to each employee, who can then choose to just keep working? Who tells a positive guest they can’t enter? I would hope they’re following the requirement to notify the health department who tested positive. That involves name, age, sex, test date and contact information. If the District has contact tracing, imagine the poor schlub who has to contact “Trump, Donald.” Lordy. Long way of still saying “Dunno.” LOL. I understand the concept of medical privacy. I guess I’m confused by how this vaunted “Safest place in the country” testing works amid the interplay of privacy and public health. Also wondering at what point medical staff could (ethically? pragmatically?) force a president’s hand by refusing to provide continued demanded residential treatment (instead of hospitalization). And, of course, imagining the tantrums. I’ll submit my movie script when it’s ready. My people have reached out to Harrison Ford to play the grizzled, conflicted doc.

These fucking clowns can’t get anything right. Am I the only one who imagines this president rarely works like this? I imagine TV-watching. Lots of small group briefings/discussions. Phone calls. Tweeting. An aide handing him stacks of things to sign one by one. I don’t at all imagine this traditional view of presidential “working.”

At least we can all do whatever we feel like now, secure in the knowledge that these miracle therapeutics exist. And if we all end up at the hospital on the same day, I'm sure there's plenty of room for everyone. Not only that, no one will be stuck with medical bills they can’t pay because the Orange Menace has such a wonderfully and bigly health care plan that will help us all. ***** ****This post is brought to you by the letter sarcasm.

Trump was positive long before Thursday and these fuckers tried to cover it up.
Do not forget, the only reason we know trump is positive is because one reporter broke the Hope Hicks story.

The only surprising thing about this lie is that they were taken on Saturday. I would not have been surprised if they were taken weeks ago, just in case he needed “action” shots.

BBC latest is that he's taken 'steroid' after a 'limited' drop in oxygen levels but is, apparently, doing well.

Question that may have been answered but I didn’t see it: does the president give up their right to privacy? I understand he has a responsibility to the people and we have an ethical/moral right to the truth, but do we have a legal right?

Wow. You would think the photographer would be smart enough to know to wipe the data (and how to do it) before releasing images intended to dupe the american public. 🙄 Also, if you want people to believe these were taken at different times, probably should have the president wearing different articles of clothing, and not just take off a suit jacket and switch rooms.

And do we really believe that he is "working" dressed like that while in the hospital? Not that I expect him an a hospital gown or pajamas, but come on. If they were going to stage a photo at least put him in a polo. We know he has lots of those.

Is anyone else concerned that to avoid a humiliating landslide loss to Biden, the orange psycho will resign because of health concerns, leaving the election to Pence ... and RNC will nominate Pence or Romney...and the Never-Trumpers will vote for him?
I am.

I am. Asking out of curiosity as I'm not American. IF he did do that and passed it on to Trump would the election still go ahead on Nov 3rd or would it be delayed while the GOP officially nominated Pence to take his place.

I don't think anything delays the election, even if they have to nominate someone the day before and all the ballots have the wrong name on them- at least that's what I read a couple days ago.

I am. Isn’t it too late to get anyone else’s name on the ballots? We’re 30 days out from an election. I personally would be fine with Romney as a president. I think he would act on the behalf of all of the american people (vs self serving like current President). Pence is far too religious for my tastes and seems unable to separate his own views from politics. I’m not saying I’d vote for either, but I don’t think it would be the end of the world if Romney were to suddenly become the candidate for President.

The spin of his campaign is unbelievable.
He had to be out there. He was a general in the fields.
