It will not be Romney. The trumpers hate him and that’s a big enough chunk of voters that the gop won’t choose him. The Republican Party IS the Trump party at this point. If you’re not kissing trump’s butt, you’re not a real republican.

. From Fox News "A spokesperson for Carlos A. Giménez, the mayor of Miami-Dade County, told Fox News on Sunday the protests were a "contributing factor" to the local coronavirus spike. Giménez "meets several times a week with his team of medical experts," the spokesperson, Patty Abril, responded in an email. "Those experts have told him that, based on information in our local emergency rooms, the protests were a contributing factor, along with our community letting its guard down and not social distancing or wearing masks, as mandated. Graduation parties, house parties and restaurants illegally turning into clubs after midnight all contributed to the spike." "Several big-city mayors and top officials are acknowledging that weeks of anti-police protests and riots may have contributed to surging coronavirus rates, weeks after Democrats and even some epidemiologists openly encouraged Black Lives Matter allies to demonstrate in the streets. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti acknowledged that public protests likely were causing a coronavirus spike, just two days after claiming there wasn't "any conclusive evidence" showing a connection between the two. Ivanka tweeted one of those pics with the effective caption “relentlessly working for the American people”. I told her 10 minutes was not relentless. Inquiring minds also want to know how signing blank pieces of paper benefits the American people. ...with a marker. Guess that is kind of like a yuge pen?

Your BFFs in the White House practiced neither social distancing nor mask compliance, held indoor parties, and consistently undermined the efficacy of mask wearing. I mean, I know you want to find literally any shred of righteousness to cling to at this point, in an attempt to argue... I don't even know what... but you're a whole mess, your crew is a whole mess, and you should have several seats.

Wow. You would think the photographer would be smart enough to know to wipe the data (and how to do it) before releasing images intended to dupe the american public. 🙄 Also, if you want people to believe these were taken at different times, probably should have the president wearing different articles of clothing, and not just take off a suit jacket and switch rooms. And do we really believe that he is "working" dressed like that while in the hospital? Not that I expect him an a hospital gown or pajamas, but come on. If they were going to stage a photo at least put him in a polo. We know he has lots of those. Well, as someone who has cared for some one around that age I have to say when crap goes downhill the button down is easier to get in & off. So I have no issue with the button down at least for those caring for him.

Asking out of curiosity as I'm not American. IF he did do that and passed it on to Trump would the election still go ahead on Nov 3rd or would it be delayed while the GOP officially nominated Pence to take his place. I don't think anything delays the election, even if they have to nominate someone the day before and all the ballots have the wrong name on them- at least that's what I read a couple days ago. Thanks. It was just a question that went though my mind because it was the person that was voted for at their convention as the nominee and not the party IYKWIM.( I realize there wasn't anyone standing against him but he still had to be confirmed and accepted).

What ever happened to hospitols being quiet zones? Hospitols make enough of their noise without the added noise from the demostations and horn blowing.

I agreed with that 2 days ago: I think he's an idiot for not wearing a mask given his age and any other risk factors. I think he's an idiot for not wearing one to at least set the example. I think he's an absolute moron for having made fun of Joe for wearing one. And my eye is twitching just thinking about the stupidity of it. But I still wish him and everyone infected a safe and speedy recovery. Sadly, I think we'll be hearing about more. Everyone should be wearing masks. Especially the President. Masks are only one important tool in preventing spread. Wearing a mask won't prevent it if you're not doing everything properly. Or if the people around you aren't doing everything properly. Gathering in large groups, shoulder to shoulder with you don't know who has what, has ignored what safety protections, is shouting protest chants, all that won't prevent spread just because you're wearing a mask yourself and following other safety protocols. And to state that the protests aren't causing the virus to spread is ignoring science.

Take science out of your mouth and go back to the hole you crawled out of.

Here is my understanding ... It is unlikely, but it is possible. Congress has the ability to determine the election date, which under current law is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Therefore, in theory, Congress could pass a law changing the election date. Constitutionally, however, the presidential term must end January 20, 2021 at noon. So while a change in election date could happen, it would take an Amendment change for transition not to occur by then ... something that in my view, would be impossible. Each party convention has the ability for their delegates to approve a replacement nominee. That doesn't have to be done via a convention. Whether a replacement name would be on the ballot, varies state by state under their own respective election laws. Remember, the electoral college comes into play into all of this as well, as the winner-take-all delegates model (as the majority of states are currently) could, in theory, change back to winner by congressional district. That would be a state by state decision. Nebraska and Maine are the only ones who are not winner-take-all right now. Again highly unlikely, but it could indeed happen.

I’m guessing this dickhead will be looking for a new job sooner than he thought. 😂🤣😂🤣 KARMA 2020 I'm wondering if his game plan was to make it seem like trump was more sick so that the "miraculous recovery" looks even better. And if it didn't go as planned then it would just look like he was telling the truth. Too bad his plan doesn't work with trump's plan of not looking sick/weak. Everyone involved has their own agenda.

You are giving them way too much credit as if they have a plan "CNN)President Donald Trump is furious with chief of staff Mark Meadows after the top West Wing official contradicted the White House physician's assessment Saturday of the President's health, two sources with knowledge of the situation told CNN on Sunday. Meadows is now widely known inside the White House to be the unnamed source who spoke to reporters following the medical briefing Saturday and offered a more dire assessment than Navy Cmdr. Dr. Sean Conley had given shortly before. That reporting was initially given to a pool of reporters attributed to an official familiar with the President's condition. Later, the Associated Press and the New York Times identified that official as Meadows. "The President's vitals over the last 24 hours were very concerning and the next 48 hours will be critical in terms of his care. We are still not on a clear path to a full recovery," Meadows said to reporters. Trump is outraged at Meadows over the botched message, according to a senior Trump adviser." www.cnn.com/2020/10/04/politics/trump-mark-meadows-chief-of-staff/index.html

This is him showing weakness, I agree, @foxy. Trump won't like that but eh, he chose a puppet, not someone with the required management skills and experience.

Isn’t it too late to get anyone else’s name on the ballots? We’re 30 days out from an election. I personally would be fine with Romney as a president. I think he would act on the behalf of all of the american people (vs self serving like current President). Pence is far too religious for my tastes and seems unable to separate his own views from politics. I’m not saying I’d vote for either, but I don’t think it would be the end of the world if Romney were to suddenly become the candidate for President. Plus the country having a First Mother is downright Gilead. 🤣 OMG 🤮🤮 That's worse than having pence.

I have friends in my expat group who were unfortunate enough to get their naturalization papers signed by him. You guessed it, it’s in a sharpie. They were quite happy to use their newly gained right to vote, to vote against him though.
