Shouldn’t everyone in the West Wing, as well as anyone else in contact with those who tested positive be in isolation for the next 14 days? Even if they are currently testing negative? Yes. Considering if you fly into New York state which is where I live, from Florida or any place else on the list regardless of whether you were exposed anywhere while you were in another state, you have to quarantine for 14 days. Bullshit

Ugh, I had written out a long reply and then my window closed and I lost it all. So the short version.
The outcome of Aesop's "Boy Who Cried Wolf" was the WOLF ATE THE SHEEP. It's not just a warning against lying, it's a warning of how to handle threats in the presence of liars. The lesson is not believe the liar is lying, that way leaves all of us with dead sheep. So while I understand why the thoughts cross people's mind, and the impact of all the previous gaslighting and lying, the outcome of this scenario is serious enough that we have to be the serious ones. Our conspiracies will damage the integrity and the security of the US just like theirs do. Which I know is hard to do because we can't do anything about anything.
And yeah, it's becoming obvious that the super-spreading event was Amy Coney Barrett's nominating event on Saturday. Which means that the Trumps were in the window of being infectious during the debate. They endangered the health of not only the Bidens and Chris Wallace but all the essential workers responsible for the security and production of the debate. This whole thing is a national security issue, and this is another example of how this President and this Administration has endangered this country and its citizens. They all need to be held accountable for that. The impact of this specific COVID-19 incident is lessened if people believe it's just fake news. We can't simultaneously express the danger they put other people in this week, while also believing he's not really infected.

I do think it is true with all of the other people who are testing positive. But I also think that it has the potential to benefit him politically. Now, the news coverage will be about poor Donald and not all of the nasty things he has done to our country. I believe there is going to be more leaks and/or stories about trump coming down the pike. So I'm not worried at all.

They're terrible people. I hope they recover. I don't wish death or suffering on anyone. That is where I'm at. I won't sink to their level & wish death or suffering on them.

They don’t even give a fuck about their own. They NEVER planned on telling anyone. Thank god for the fake news media who broke the story about Hope Hicks. //3 Chris Christie was on GMA today and when asked, he said at that prep meeting no one wore a mask. Did he wear one? If not I have no sympathy for him. Just because no one else is wearing one doesn't mean he shouldn't. Personal responsibility folks! I wear mine to protect myself and others, if other's don't wear theirs it doesn't mean that I don't need to protect myself.

I don't think he's faking it for a few reasons. One, he views illness as weakness. He'd never want to be seen as weak. Two, it hurt the stock market, at least initially.

If you play Russian Roulette (not wearing a mask and insisting those around you not wear them either) long enough, you eventually get a bullet. Yes. And the timing is just delicious.

I really hope The Trumps and the Kushners spent a lot of time together recently. Although I do hope the three Kushner children stay healthy. Yes, anyone under 18 I hope stays healthy as they are not responsible for the actions of the adults around them. The rest should reap what they sow.

The impact of this specific COVID-19 incident is lessened if people believe it's just fake news. We can't simultaneously express the danger they put other people in this week, while also believing he's not really infected. I replied at 6 am this morning. As this day goes on and more and more news comes out about people testing positive, I'm less inclined to believe he's lying.

My version will be (uncharacteristically) shorter: a resounding “Yup!” This is what it is and should be treated as it is - with all the needed finger pointing and examination. (Yep, I said more.)

I didn't read all of the responses, but I will.
My thoughts:
*Hope Hicks tested positive & she's the one who is the CLOSEST to Trumpy. They are together in close quarters, breathing the same air on AF1, etc..... It was bound to happen.
*I doubt HIGHLY that this would be some kind of hoax, since he just generally stated that the virus is nearly behind us. His stupid protocol of having everyone that works with him tested each morning seems to be enough for them. NO MASKS are ever used. They sit in close quarters, breathing the same air, under the false impression that their little quickie test daily is enough. OBVIOUSLY IT'S NOT, and yet they're still sticking to the same method!!!!!!
*Mark Meadows came out to make his statement this morning, sans mask. Huh? Isn't he one of Trumpy's closest people??? Why isn't he self-isolating? (Does he also believe that the daily quickie test is enough???).
*All of the Trumpy family on Tues night were told to wear masks in the audience. As soon as they sat down, they removed them. Supposedly a doctor came over to them and again asked them to put the masks on, but they refused. What do these people think will happen?? How do they all think that they'll escape it?? Kimberly G just had it a few weeks ago. Don Jr cancelled a few interviews for the next few weeks (maybe he has it too---cocaine does lower your immune system).
*My only conspiracy theory about this would be if he's truly given up and he's using this time to escape to UAE or Russia, but I doubt it.
*The fact that he's CLAIMING it's a "mild case" it probably bullshit. He lies about everything. To review: He's extremely morbidly obese, he's on medication for his heart, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Rx for hair growth, Adderall (you're not supposed to snort it Donnie), and MANY other meds/conditions. Hopefully they'll all finally be released to the public. We have the right to know. He's in a very precarious situation being 74 and SO very unhealthy.
I can't in my heart wish the best for him since he allowed 210,000 U.S. citizens to die and it's continuing. He'll get the BEST care. We don't get that. Sorry to say, but I hope that he has a rough time with this (like Boris Johnson did) so he could come back and admit that it is REAL. Time will tell.

On the BBC live feed just now, Trump cancels call with vulnerable seniors US media are reporting that Covid-positive President Trump has cancelled his only scheduled event on Friday as he and the first lady isolate in the White House. The event was set to be a phone call on Covid-19 support to vulnerable older people. There is irony in there, somewhere. In neon. On a billboard. On the Las Vegas Strip.

By the way, I am not feeling gleeful over them having COVID19. Not at all. It's real hard though, not to hope that one of them feels sick enough that Trump will stop downplaying this, and stop saying hardly anyone gets it, etc. If he had taken this seriously from the very beginning, I would feel more sympathy for them. But he continues to not wear a mask, he was making fun of Biden for wearing a mask just 2 days ago. His supporters don't wear masks. So yeah, I am not wishing death or serious illness, but I do want him to be sick enough that he will stop saying it's just like the flu and all the other shit he says about it. I don't think that makes me sick and disgusting. I agree with you 110%. I am so disturbed that he knew this virus was airborne in February and yet refused to wear a mask/support mask wearing, which in turn caused many of his base to take the anti-mask stance. I think if he had taken mask wearing more seriously, we could have had fewer cases/death AND been able to reopen businesses earlier.

I was in a group text conversation yesterday with some friends, one of whom is a pulmonologist. Somebody asked him about the president's risk factors and his answer gave me the giggles: Age, BMI, and moral turpitude ( I had to check a dictionary for the exact meaning of that one!)

And McEnany gave that presser NOT WEARING A MASK!!! All the while passing the blame to the WH Chief of Operations for okay’ing Trump’s appearance in NJ. There isn’t enough rage for the continued stupidity. Wear a f’ing mask. Especially if you have been in close contact with MULTIPLE people who have tested positive. Honestly, they should make it a criminal offense. Lock her up!

The fact that he’s so paranoid about illness and vitality he’s probably shitting his pants right now. His biggest fear is being an invalid. He probably has that covered. Literally covered. There's rumors he already wears incontinence products.

Forgive me if someone else already mentioned this, but I just saw footage of Senator Mike Lee maskless and hugging his way around the WH lawn after the Coney Barrett announcement the other day. What the hell? Who is hugging these days? What a dumb asshole.
