I need to pull out my Halloween decorations today. Won’t go full out, but I have a tiered tray and a few shelves I will decorate. I’ll also put out some pumpkins. Have you decorated/will you decorate for Halloween?

probably not. we don't have many trick-or-treaters on a regular year, so I figure we won't have any during a pandemic. And we have new puppies, so anything in the house is fair game for them to chew and mess with.
eta: basically, nothing about this year has been normal at all for me (personal, family reasons, pandemic, etc.) so I basically just want to get this year over with as quick as possible.

We have our usual pumpkins & small gourds from the local Apple orchard on our stoop. I should get the rest of my tiny Halloween collection out, but that usually doesn't happen until right before Halloween. Our city hasn't officially decided about allowing trick or treating yet (and our neighborhood Facebook group is hotly divided over it) but I'll still do something outside because its fun & easy to decorate for.

Did the usual stuff on the inside but we scaled back on the outside this year.

Yes! I already have my stuff out. My house is gated, so I don't get ToTers anyway, but Halloween is my favorite holiday!

I was going to decorate for fall and then Halloween, but we have a dry wall project happening and the DUST! So, to save myself from heading to crazy town, I decided not to do the inside. I will put up a Halloween shower curtain though! I have outdoor stuff I bought last year at the end of the season, so I WILL put those out.

We've been decorating for 2 weeks already! We looooove spooky decorating and have as much Halloween stuff as Christmas. With nothing else to look forward to this year, we went ahead and started putting it up.

I do more fall decor than Halloween specific. I have a few things out. Noting outside though.

I got rid of almost all my seasonal decorations when I purged as part of the move. I kept more Christmas ornaments than anything. I decided I wanted to 'start over' with wreaths and décor selected to really complement our new home. A fresh start so to speak.
The only fall/Halloween decoration I kept was a big terra cotta pumpkin that's sat on front steps all through my children's lives. I guess it's time to get it out of the basement and in its place!

Yes. Even more so than usual outside. my husband and daughter decorated yesterday, even bought a whole bunch of new lights. Im not really a fan, but it makes them happy to be festive and i think during a time like this, we need it more than ever!

Have you decorated/will you decorate for Halloween? We always decorate inside the beginning of September. We have lighted houses and lanterns we love. Plus dishes, cups & mugs. Tomorrow we will be decorating our front porch. We went yesterday and got our pumpkins.

I’ve got some Halloween decorations and fall stuff around the house.
Nothing on the outside yet. I need to get my fall wreath out of the attic. We never get more than a handful of trick or treaters each year, but I still feel compelled to put the fake cobwebs across my front bushes. I love Halloween, so it’s really just for me!

I have my annual Halloween wreath, a little ghost hanging thing and then my pumpkin and some gourds outside. Inside I have a fabric pumpkin and a baby pumpkin on the mantle. I gave most of my Halloween decorations to my son. They decorate and are having a party.
Back in the day when my kids were young we went all out, but regretfully I gave all of that stuff away. This is why I hate tossing anything I think I'm done with. It always turns out I could use it down the road.

Thanks to this thread, I went down to the basement and pulled out my terra cotta pumpkin -- he's on the front steps. And I bought the cutest little fabric pumpkin with a sheer ribbon around the stem to sit in the center of our breakfast table. Done. I'm a minimalist.

September 1 is my go day for fall decorating. This year I don’t think I’m going to actually decorate for Halloween. But next year I’ll be going all Out.. I want to find a black tree so I can have a Halloween tree for next year. This year I’m just working on making stitched ornaments for it. We used to decorate inside and out like crazy but that’s been a couple years since we did that

I thought about it and then realized that my home is already decorated with ouija boards, voodoo dolls, cemeteries, churches, and skeletons so I'm just going to add a couple of fall things and call it a day. Outside, I'm going to throw a couple of inflatables out for the neighbors kids but I'm primarily decorating with campaign signs.

and, I put some straw bales and pumpkins on the porch. They had a pumpkin that looked like a butt so I bought it and then loved it even more when the lady at the farm said "Oh yay, you bought the butt pumpkin. I was worried no one would want it." I'll tell you, it's the prettiest ass that's ever been on that porch

I never really do much on the inside, but DH likes to go all out on the outside. We have the moving laser light show things, a giant inflatable pumpkin, several smaller inflatables, a bunch of orange and pumpkin shaped string lights, plus we always carve several real pumpkins to put out. A couple years ago DH bought a fog machine. This year he bought the singing pumpkin thing that was advertised on Facebook but it hasn’t come yet.
We haven’t decided on whether DD should ToT this year and I haven’t bought our customary full size Hershey bars yet, DH uses them to advertise his business every year and we have actually gotten several local clients that way. There would be a couple ways to safely social distance pass out candy at our house so it’s not off the table.

I'll pull out my Man Eating Wreath (Nightmare Before Christmas) tomorrow, that will stay up until I take down my Christmas decorations. I'm still on the fence about decorating outside. We are not handing out candy this year, and will spend that annual budget on additional Salvation Army Thanksgiving meals.

I would love to decorate this year. Our street is known for our decorations. And 800-1000 kids come to trick or treat on my block. The decorations welcome the fun. But this year, I can not think of a single safe way to have that many kids (plus parents) on our block. Even if it was half that many, it’s still a lot of people. It can be overwhelming at times in a normal year.

I've got some things out, both inside and outside, I'm not sure if I will get it all out of not.
