Hello team, I'm feeling a little down today, and I don't really know why. So I'm just trying to ride it out and hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow. So no cards from me this weekend, but I know I can catch up soon. I got a haircut for the first time since November earlier this week, and I love it! I love going to the hairdresser, though. A moment of "me" time is always a good thing. Hope you're feeling better today. A lot of people are hitting a 6 month wall, from what I'm seeing (it's a thing apparently) so be kind to yourself.

Quarantine fatigue is real. And a struggle. Glad to hear you are feeling better scrappyrabbit. I hate it when I'm down and I don't know why. I'm not following along with Cardtober but I want to get over there and see if I can find my Christmas card design. Such talented ladies here!

Good Friday morning, Joyfuls! Hope your week is ending on a high note and that your weekend will be whatever you want it to be. I have been trying to keep up--mostly--with CARDtober, and also with LOAD, over at ScrapHappy. Don't know why I do this to myself, b/c once I get started, I feel driven to complete, even though I know this is just ME pushing me. And I had promised to do a Sketchy Saturday challenge for tomorrow, so that was hanging over my head. I apparently LIKE that feeling, since I so often put things off until the LAST minute! But today I am feeling really relaxed. My CARDtober sample is posted. Finally got my Sketchy Saturday LO done, and since today's LOAD prompt is one that I have done before in my little album, I am going to post that sample as my "prompt adjacent" submission today. Most of my LOAD pages have been for my 6x8" All about ME book I started last February and then dropped as soon as I had more "interesting" things to scrap. (In my mind almost ANYTHING is more interesting than a book about ME ) But LOAD is pushing me to finish it, so that is a good thing. So for the rest of today, I plan to PLAY... Next weekend I will be attending an in-person CROP!!! Have a few pages I hope to do there, but for the most part will be putting together Christmas cards. There won't be any shared equipment of course, and I don't want to take my Vagabond or Silhouette with me. So today I want to do some diecutting and dry embossing and maybe play around with media, creating card backgrounds. If you don't hear from me, look under the pile of diecut gnomes in my scraproom!

If you don't hear from me, look under the pile of diecut gnomes in my scraproom! That kind of sounds like a fun way to go lol. The book about you might not seem so fun to you, but I'm glad you're doing it. I'm sure your family will be glad you're doing it too. I too have overcommitted myself a bit this month... deep breath...

I don't have scrappy plans this weekend. Sister in law announced her pregnancy to us last weekend, and now this weekend she wants to do a gender reveal. I quickly knocked out 2 baby cards (a box card and a shaker card) and I might just give them both to her! The box card certainly will not fit inside an envelope so I may just stuff it into her gift bag, and then use the shaker card to write the message. I am finished with my Halloween cards, and mailed them out to my friends. I do have a few left over. I still have plenty of Halloween supplies, so it seems I over-prepared but I was happy to have the variety. I need to make a bday card for my husband for Wednesday...

Ok I swear I responded here to scrappyrabbit like a week ago. No worries scrappyrabbit ! Sometimes the mojo isn't there or life gets in the way. There is no pressure to do anything here! I've been there myself and had many months that I did absolutely nothing. This month is starting to look that way lol. I've had the time, but not the energy to scrap. This week has been brutal for some reason ( Mercury retrograde maybe? lol) but it's left me with no energy to scrap. I hope that doesn't last long. I have supplies on the way for Christmas cards and I'm excited about that. grammadee I love the book you are doing about yourself. I totally understand the self imposed pressure too I do that all the time to myself. joblackford I feel like I overcommit every month. But it's that self imposed pressure to get a lot done. How's everyone doing?

I have a big pile of paper scraps big enough for card fronts that I’m trying to work through. I am trying to train myself to cut a stack of card bases as a warm up to each crafting session so I always have extra and don’t run out halfway through crafting.
Yesterday I was doing some quick decluttering and found the pictures from a National Parks calendar that I had saved as inspiration for artwork. Well, I told myself I need to use them or toss them, so I cut them up, managed to get two pieces from each picture to make card fronts. I stuck them down today and they look pretty good! Then I kept going with some Halloween scraps while I watched Shimelle.
I should catch up with my virus diaries and October album tomorrow, but hopefully I’ll have time to stick down another bunch of scraps because I’m getting sick of all my piles of unfinished projects! But the thought of trying to catch up on the last month’s fire hose of news is quite daunting... I was actually going to try drawing a fire hose and add some headlines and keywords into the water part. Not sure if I can pull that off though!
We’re halfway through the month. Am I the only one who hasn’t calculated any of their points yet? Eek.

Checking in for the first time this month... I’m 4 sketches behind in the class so I’m hoping to work on a couple of those today.

I haven't been able to do much scrapping this weekend. I do all of my scrapping on my MacBook, and I spilled coffee on it on Friday, so I turned it off and have to wait 48 hours before trying to turn it on again. The whole reason I bought the MacBook is because my PC couldn't run the latest version of Photoshop properly, as it doesn't have enough RAM. (Plus I wanted the portability so I could scrap anywhere.) I had a LO that I just had to add a few things to, so I logged onto my PC. I managed to finish it, after it crashed numerous times. The other reason it was difficult is because I broke my big monitor a few weeks ago, so I am having to use an old monitor. The resolution is stuck on wide angle, and can't be fixed. So everything is stretched and my 12x12 layouts look like 16x12 hahaha! I feel sick about my MacBook. If it's dead and costs too much to fix, or can't be fixed, I can't afford another one, so I won't be doing any scrapping for a while.

How about we are over halfway through the month and I haven't posted much joblackford lol. Making card fronts and watching a video sounds really relaxing. schroema I haven't done a single sketch. I think I will end up doing this class later. I never seem to find the time for the classes I get. I have quite a few I need to start or finish. AussieMeg how's your Mac? That's so sickening when you spill on electronics. Especially expensive and necessary ones! We need you to keep scrapping!

Oh no, AussieMeg! Hope your MacBook survived! As joyfulnana says, we need you scrapping! schroema, the pages you posted are awesome. You do such great things with those sketches! Can you access the classes on your own schedule? If so, then you can't be "behind". I am in quite the muddle in here. Starting to put stuff aside to take with me to the crop on Friday without packing up everything in the room. I always SAY I will pack lighter, but... Also, I want to keep up with the LOAD challenges, so I can't really pack the heavy stuff yet (trimmer, mats, cutting plates,...) So far, I just have a bunch of half filled containers and a flurry of sticky notes. It has been a year since my last crop, and it's weird packing for one now. I will remember Oh yeah, I need x, and then that reminds me that I usually take y, and then I start looking for z...

I am very happy and relieved to report that my Mac seems to be working ok. I turned it on on Monday after it had been switched off for 3 days, and apart from a couple of keys that were a bit stuck, everything is ok. Even those stuck keys are now working fine. PHEW!!! I can't tell you how relieved I am. The MacBook, which I am still paying off on an interest free deal, cost me over $2400 and there is no way I'd be able to get another one.

I took the new Heidi Swapp card class today. There are 8 sessions (pre recorded) and I watched 5 today and will do the others tomorrow. It cost $10.00. It was interesting to make this mini album styled card that was layered inside lots of envelops and pockets. AussieMeg- WHEW! I am glad your mac is ok! We need your layouts and would be sad if you couldn't scrap for a while!

grammadee it’s not a “class” necessarily but a group of sketches we are working thru in a fb group, one per week. Allison posts a video and examples each week. Last week was the last week but I think the fb group will stay up so yes, you can finish on your own schedule. I still like having the schedule; it keeps me working on it! AussieMeg I am so glad your MacBook is working! What a relief for you!

Ugh, y'all, I'm totally failing this month. I haven't done a single thing except print out some pictures for my what was supposed to be October sort of daily album. I will hopefully get something done this week. I started out all gungho and just peetered out. While my daughter is in her morning zoom class I'll look through the challenges and prep one for motivation! AussieMeg - I'm so glad your Mac is working! I used to do tech support and am a Mac certified technician and spills can be really awful.

Hello fellow Joyful people. Where is this month going? It is like two thirds over already. I've been participating in CARDtober and I appreciate all the hostesses that come up with challenges. I've been able to keep up with CARDtober because, as grammadee says, "I gave up my pesky day job". Good news for me, my grown son is visiting! He's been working from his apartment and he thought, "Why not have an extended visit and be less lonely?" The weather here has been pretty good so I've been doing a lot of walking. AussieMeg I actually felt a sense of relief when I heard your MacBook was working.

Man, where has this month gone?! So glad to hear your MAC is ok AussieMeg ! grammadee how was the crop? @jedianne I'm not doing so great this month either. I've only completed 2 pages and feel my mojo starting to wane somewhat. kellyr21 that Heidi card class popped up in my FB the past couple days, and I keep thinking about it. Are you enjoying it? I can't believe it's almost time to start gathering point totals again. Ack! Seriously, where did this month go???

joyfulnana- At first, I wasn't sure about it cause each video was quick. I watched several and have 3 more to go. But it is a fun idea of making various cards, pockets and envelops that fit all into one cute album card. I may try it this week.

How is everyone doing on the final stretch? Finished unpacking my crop crap today. Found some things that had been lost for awhile, and lost some things I KNOW I just saw! Or... par for the course...
I still have some sharing to do of cards I put together at the crop. Trying to match them with CARDtober challenges with the hope of earning that completion bonus. Most of the interactive cards--which are fun, but take a bit of time--are still on my list of things to do.
I have an appointment with an accountant tomorrow, but still hope to get my LOAD page done. Have kept up so far: can't let it drop, now. Halloween will be pretty quiet here, so I should be able to finish up a bunch of CARDtober challenges on Saturday. And I still need to calculate a bunch of points.

I have really enjoyed cardtober. It’s manageable enough to do one card a day, or if you fall behind, to catch up. I definitely ended up with a lot of varied cards that I may not have ever thought of myself! I still have some interactive cards to catch up on, but my weekend is totally free so I can craft.
I am not looking forward to calculating all my points, though!

Wow teacherlisa that’s a lot of organizing points! My mojo has been fading away and I haven’t done anything the last half of the month. I really need to get some cards done if I’m going to make any. scrappyrabbit I’m so glad you are enjoying the challenges. Hope you stick around! 🙂 grammadee I’m especially glad you are my team this month! LOAD and Cardtober, that should be lots of points! 😁 And to anyone new to the challenges reading this, the points don’t matter, I like to tease grammadee because she is such a prolific creator! Lol

I just posted the last CARDtober challenge, so I guess I better start calculating my points. I hope to do some more crafting tomorrow while my husband is out cutting up someone's hot tub and inspecting a mounted moose head he's part owner of temporarily. grammadee can you believe that after we sold FIL's moose antlers that he went and found a friend who had a whole head sitting in his garage? The man can't help himself with the wheeling and dealing, so even though we're helping him *downsize* (very slowly because he has SO MUCH) he bought the moose and he's planning to flip it with my husband's assistance. sigh. They got a good deal on it and hopefully it will never come to our house. I just got bogged down trying to explain for posterity how the White House ended up with so many people getting CoViD. I'm looking forward to getting some easier stuff recorded and then switching back to my Halloween and fall leaves journal.
