Here is your sample. I don't recall where I found it. I think it's from Kristie Marcotte Your challenge is to use only two pieces of patterned paper. I was lucky on the ones I did since the paper was double sided. Your twist is to make a set of at least 3 cards and mix up the papers, making no two the same. 5 extra points for the twist SUNBURST by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr Here are mine IMG_4962 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr

gramma I don't have a Silhouette, but I do have a Scanncut. Will it work in that?

I think if you print off the sample from above it should work in your Scan n' Cut.

Thank you for the challenge gramma . Your example was so pretty I got it stuck in my head that the challenge was to make a sunburst card. Nope, it was only to use 2 pp. Still laughing ..... grammadee I see you like the sunburst effect too! Also as a note to my future self, pick a pattern that doesn't need to be "grounded" ... I don't like that my cars are driving vertically. But I did enjoy making a sunburst card.

Then I thought of another one that cuts a thin frame around rectangles and squares. But I couldn’t FIND that one, so the scrap gods must have wanted me to use the starburst!

I still thought the same thing until I just read your post. So, here are my three sunburst cards. LOL No blog post or fancy background for my photo today. I used scraps from the Carta Bella Fall Market paper collection I used for the last mini album I made. The sentiments are from Simply Said stamps and die from Concord & 9th.

the only thing I can say is that great minds think alike! CoffeeCrafter, I like those florals with the dots and the big greetings. jjpeapea, Christmas is a magical time, so cars can go whatever way they want! Can't wait to see yours, azcrafty and scrappyrabbit!

I thought it was supposed to be a sunburst, too. Since I am still trying to figure out papers, I haven’t even started yet.
If we don’t need to do a sunburst, my life just got easier.

Cardtober day 7 by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr Here are mine. The sunburst was extremely challenging for me. I don't have dies, and I don't have an electronic cutting machine. I just kinda winged it, but you have to make sure you cut both papers identical. Anyway, I got it. I had to cover up one of the cards that the alignment just got way out of whack, so that's the one with the cut-apart "Happy Halloween" on it. I used 2 double-sided papers for these.

Cute Halloween cards, scrappyrabbit! And good job getting through that without a die! I still want to do the 2 papers with different shapes. Before I try to wing that, I am going to make one more search for that missing die. So much easier to align things when you have an outline.

Unfortunately, CARDtober coincided with my DH having major medical problems. It’s been hard for me to keep up without neglecting his needs. I was already two days behind on the challenges as of this morning. I knew going into this that I wasn’t going to be able to participate to the same extent that I did the last two years. That’s why I had to prepare all of my challenges and samples ahead of time. When DH goes into surgery, I may not be able to participate at all for at least a few days. Until then, I would rather do something simpler than skip a challenge completely because it requires more than I can do at the time.

I try to post challenges that are easy for any one to do. This one was meant to be more about using a limited number of papers to make multiple cards than to copy the template. It certainly wasn't meant to cause stress.

Thank you, azcrafty and gramma. This has just been an extremely difficult week for both DH and I. I’m sorry if I sounded upset. Communication is not always my strong point, and I am sleep deprived, so my skills in that area are even worse than usual right now. azcrafty, I’m sure the tutorial will help everyone who hasn’t done a sunburst before, not just me. I know you were just trying to help and encourage me. I may try the tutorial another day, just not right now. gramma, your challenge is actually an easy one, now that I understand it’s about the papers, not the sunburst. I had tried working with a sunburst cutting file earlier in the day when I first saw your challenge, and it did not go well. I think your samples are lovely. I hope that at some point I can tackle a sunburst and have it look as good as yours.

Here is mine I used 2 12×12 double sided pp, cut them down to 6×6 and just started to play with patters, like quilting. If you page left i show how I made my sunburst card. http://instagram.com/p/CGFotxvJi2z

Especially for those we love. It's a fine balance between encouraging, supporting, frustration and fear. My DH was diagnosed with vascular dementia last year. Some days are soooo much harder than others. I find peace in gluing paper on paper so to have frustration added in the mix makes be very unhappy. I hope you and your guy are doing better every day.

I finally got my card done. I used double sided Graphic 45 Floral Shoppe papers, with a bit of fuzzy cutting from the papers for additional variety. From the sample, I assumed we could use a little cardstock besides our patterned papers. I needed to use plain cardstock for the sentiment and card base.

azcrafty, that red gingham makes those really fun cards. I like all the different arrangements of pp pieces, too. scrapnnana, those cards are gorgeous! I love G45, but am afraid to buy it b/c I have no idea how to use it.
