Oh that scares me. Mom put the fear in us over "my good sewing scissors!" and my mom is the the most gentle non fear instilling person!

Yep, that's how we feel. My kids always knew to not touch my sewing stuff (or other crafty stuff) without my permission.

hahaha!! I totally get it. I have tons of craft scissors, but there is one pair that are 'for fabric only' and I hide them.

I hide my good fabric scissors so well that sometimes I forget where I put them. My family also knows not to touch my good crafting scissors as well, under penalty of my wrath!

My mother taught us well--Fabric scissors are not to cut anything but fabric, EVER!!!! It was hammered into us....no one cut anything with the fabric scI issors.
Years later I was setting up my DIL with a sewing box. I purchased some good fabric scissors and put in the box. I explained that these scissors were to be used on fabric only and explained why. She replied, "Oh, so THAT is true." I thought that meant someone had cautioned her on fabric scissors and she blew them off.

Here to admit I do that for my paper and fabric scissors & blades. I also make liberal use of the skull & crossbones. 🤣☠️☠️☠️☠️

When in college, I put a padlock through the finger holes of my Gingher scissors. I wasn’t risking it!

At this point I think Dh and Ds both come to me with any scissors to make sure they are okay to use. Just a couple of months ago ds19 came to me with manicure scissors! I've trained them well.

My mom is a quilter, you better use your teeth before you touch her fabric scissors!

I would cry! My brother cut fishline with my good scissors when we were in HS. I still dredge that up 35+ years later!

I have a son who wants to learn how to sew so I sent him the meme. It is Gospel! (He STOLE scrapbooking tools. I found my good paper trimmer at his apartment! I let him have it because I had a few others.)
