Hellooo! everyone! How is everyone doing?! I feel like I haven't been home for like 3 wks..ok. I haven't really. So this wkend, I'm laying low and relaxing. Doing laundry and catching up on things at home. I was in my hometown for 1 1/2 wks to help take care of my mom. She had a total knee. She came thru it great! and was doing really good, but has had some increased swelling and bruising, which is normal, but she had a bit more then normal. shhh. don't tell her. She is totally overdramatic about evvverything. ugh. My brother came the wk after, and went home this wkend to duck hunt. So he's been there to help too. I came back, worked 2 days, and after work the 2nd day took off for the cities, and we went to the MN state fair fall parade on the fair grounds. We love the fair, and this was super fun. The weather was perfect. Also hit up the mall and did some other shopping. This was basically the 1st time we had been out of town since march. came back from that, and worked all wk, and last night I hosted a baby shower for my co-worker at the Country club, which turned out really nice. We had a great time. Today it's cold and snowing out! ick!! probably going to get carry out tonight. Tomorrow I plan on making a crockpot full of chili. What has everyone else been up too??! Going to pour myself a drink in a bit! Anyone drinking anything new or fun?

It snowed yesterday, and is still cold and windy today. Instant winter! We have been working on development in the basement, and DH was on holidays last week working on the built ins. I did some laundry while he went to the shop to cut a big chunk of lumber and when he returned, we threw a coat of Varathane on the one set of shelves. We will put another coat on later this evening. We have leftovers for supper. So exciting.

Yea. I'm not ready for winter yet. Even though it's about that time. Esp after this sucky of a yr. Another storm is coming next wk, with up to 1-2 feet predicted. blech!! hope they are wrong, and it takes another path.
Your basement remodeling sounds nice. We still have our whole upstairs all in a mess after we went thru all the closets and moved stuff out of my youngest dd's room, to make in to another guest room. We need to pain the room yet, so everything is moved out, and all over the place. Need to get motivated on that.

I'm not ready for that crap. LOLOL

Nothing exciting happening here. Dh had to go into the office but got a late start due to ds's cross country meet at noon. He doesn't expect to be back until at least 9 tonight. Dd#1 is dealing with a migraine so she's pretty quiet(she's usually our chatterbox). Dd#2 was out with a friend for a while but just got back.
I turned on Harry Potter for background noise since all of us are doing other things (computers and phones are out).
I'm just enjoying the down time. It's another busy week ahead. 2 soccer games, a cross country meet, a progress meeting(the very last one ever) for ds, therapy appt for dd. Plus dh crazy busy with work.
I'm so happy that my dog seems to be getting back to normal. I'm not sure if anyone remembers my posts but he had anaplasmosis. The week after he finished meds for that, SOMETHING happened while we were gone and he was SO scared of being inside the house. We couldn't get him to come inside when we'd let him out and if we left bedroom doors open he'd go to the farthest point away from the main living area. It was bad. He's always been scared of loud noises so all we can figure is that something loud happened when we were gone. But it's now been a month or even a little longer of us having to lure him into the house with treats/ human food. Well then he started not eating his dog food because why would he eat that if we give him human food to get him inside. Omg, it was crazy. I had to tell everyone to not give him any human food until he started eating his food again. He now been 3 or 4 days eating his food and we're not having to spend 5-10 mins to get him inside each time he was let out. So I'm very happy he seems to be getting back to himself. I love this dog but man he's been a challenge this year.

Snow? Oh my goodness! We were in the 70s today. Still in sandals and t-shirts, DH still in shorts.
Been a pretty stellar day, DD (22) came home from university yesterday so she could surprise my Dad. The look on his face this afternoon when he came in and saw her was priceless!
Was college football rivalry day in our house today as well DH's beloved Hogs VS. DD's Land Sharks. I wore an Ole Miss shirt as well and DH has been giving me grief all day, LOL. (DD and I even got a Hotty Toddy from a random stranger in Kroger this morning! Gosh I love living in the South.)
This afternoon was the monthly spaghetti supper at church, but DH refused to go anywhere while the game was on. So I ran up and got a couple of quarts of sauce and we fixed our own noodles and bread. Quick and easy.
Game is now over and DH is gloating mercilessly. He has bragging rights for the next year. He and DD just left to take my Dad home and when they get back DD is going to dye my hair... Purple. I am sure I will get some looks tomorrow at Mass.
All in all it has been a wonderful day spoiling our Daughter and spending time with her.

We left home at 630 am to drive to Kentucky for a wedding (basically just wedding party, no dancing, just the hitching and a cupcake. Awesome! Ha) and we are just pulling back in town.
We are going to snuggle the dogs, take a hot shower, turn on a movie and im hoping to be asleep in less than an hour.
Wild!

We moved into our new home two weeks ago and today was the first day it started to feel organized enough to be civilized. We're drinking wine tonight and watching the series Turn from a few years ago.

DD came over and helped me put all the patio furniture in the garage for the winter. No more social distancing on the patio, sob. DH is watching football. I'm just puttering at my scrapbook table. I should pour myself a margarita from the bottle I bought at Costco.

I love this dog but man he's been a challenge this year. OMG! the poor thing. I wonder what happened. glad he's starting to get over it. It was so bizarre. Because it was a Friday and we were just running the girls up to the school for practice. We left the windows open because it's less than 5 mins round trip. He was 100% fine when we left. When we got back home, he was sitting in a spot on the couch he never sits on and he was shaking uncontrollably like someone had lit off firecrackers in front of him. For the first 2 weeks, no one could raise their voice, any crazy activity like all 3 kids coming in at once, would send him running for a place to hide(not easy for an almost 80 lb dog), any loud noise would send him into shaking fits. But with lots of love and babying from everyone, he's finally coming around. Even though dh and I were almost certain it was behavioral, we did talk to our vet and got confirmation from her that it wasn't some weird side effect of the meds he took. But she agreed...something spooked him and we just needed to give him time and keep doing what we had to do to get him to come around.

DH is working so I'm drinking a glass of wine while making a pros and cons list of a house we're considering buying. Ugh I hate decisions like this.

OK, so dye is on, I am processing. Crossing my fingers that it turns out OK.
We are only doing the underside like usual, but this time instead of doing the underside from the back of my ears to the back, I am doing it all the way around my head from the top of my ears down. So there is purple peeking out from a layer of blonde hair.
In the past, many people haven't even noticed that my hair is dyed unless I wore it up. Think they will notice this time, LOL.
BTW, I was telling a friend what we were doing and I said I was going to go add some Gentleman Jack to my coke so if this doesn't turn out I can say, well I was drunk.

Fun fact Y'all. Tanzenite may look purple online and it may look purple on the box, but on my hair it is decidedly BLUE, like ROYAL BLUE. Not exactly the shade I was going for. Most very bummed.

Inquiring minds want to know? What did you say? I would have said "pizza guy".
