Here's my "what would the Peas do?" problem of the day. My photos are printing slightly under-sized, and my pockets are slightly over-sized, so everything is sitting just a little askew. I'm annoyed by the white edges on the backs of the photos that are facing the other way. Does this happen to you? What do you do about it? Do you ink the backs of the photos so they "disappear?" Do you cut paper to fill the pockets exactly, and the mount the photos to them? Do you just ignore it? I mean, how important is it really? So, not an earth shattering, life changing topic, but like I said above, I'm annoyed. Talk to me

This mostly bothers me when I flip through my albums and stuff starts sliding around and even out of the pocket. Happens with the 2x2 pockets as well.
I definitely have been known to go back and cut a right-sized card and mount the photos to it to keep it secure. I have also stapled the photos in place with the Tim Holtz mini stapler or used a paperclip to secure it if it's at the top.
It bothers me enough that it's something I'm trying to avoid as I create now.

I would back my photos with a piece of paper that fit the pocket.
ETA: I wonder if you put a small piece of foam tape in the corners of the photos and matched them with the other side if that would create a thicker layer.

My answer depends on how much too small. Just a smidge? I stick them in and by the time I fill the other side, I have forgotten about them being too small. If they are really too small I would back them with white paper to give them a white border.

If they are only out by a little bit I would consider using my adhesive to stick the two photos in each pocket back to back so they stay aligned.

I do all of the above. If it's just a touch too small I ignore it. If it's a bit smaller but staying in the pocket, I adhere it to the back of the other photo. If it's sliding around and both the front and back photos are at risk of falling out I mount it to some cardstock that is a snug fit.

By the way, I never thought of inking the back of the other photo. I'm going to try it sometime 🙂.

Ugh, I hates it! Back when I did pocket pages it was one of the things that would make me crazy. I would usually add a cardstock mat. I like my photos to fit tightly/exactly.

A couple of you have suggested sticking the photos together. I hadn't considered that one before, but it sounds like another good solution to me.
I'll probably end up cutting tighter fitting backings for some of them. Eventually. But it's going to take forever if I try to do it for every pocket. But first I'll probably be ignoring the problem for a year or so.
Thanks Peas!

If they are only out by a little bit I would consider using my adhesive to stick the two photos in each pocket back to back so they stay aligned. I do that a lot. I also back the smaller photo with paper, so it's a true 4x6, or whatever size. I also use my Fuse tool to seal the pocket if I put memorabilia in it.

I would just add a mat to the back of the photos. I mat my photos, anyway, even on my traditional pages. Matting frames them and makes the photos stand out a bit more.

I usually just ignore it, even if it bugs me, unless it’s so loose that it seems stuff will fall out. The Simple Stories pockets are so big (whyyyyy are they oversized?!) and leave pretty large gaps, but while photos shift around and go askew, they don’t slip out. It looks sloppier than I like, but if I start fussing with details I never get anywhere. 😌

if its just a smidge I ignore it. I use the rounded corner PL cards a lot but don't round the corners of my photos so I am used to seeing the backs of the reverse side peek through a wee bit. I don't love it but I've accepted it lol.
I like to use square photos a fair bit, those will always mount on a card that fits the pocket better. or sometimes I end up cropping a photo in a way it just doesn't fill the whole card. again I just mount it.

Pretend that you did it on purpose, stagger them around; one centered, one to the far right, and so on. Put a small embellishment like sequins or enamel dots to the side of the photo. Matt the photo. Then sigh and say well it's done.

It bugs me but I ignore it. Put it in a balloon and let it go.
I use my fuse to close the pocket if I think things will fall out.

I mat all of my photos, even in pocket pages. Usually I end up cutting my photos down just a sliver so that I can mat them, but it gives the photos have a bit of "breathing space" between and makes sure everything is a tight fit. If photos are extra small I do some embellishing or journal on the mat as well. The fuse tool is also great to customize a pocket or make sure things don't slip out.
After I finish an album with lots of pocket pages, I tend to heat up my fuse, and flip through the album sealing any pockets where I see items slipping out of place. It's a chore, but I only have to do it once.

I love the Simple Stories page protectors because they're so sturdy but aah, they drive me nuts in terms of sizing. I'm a very flat and minimalist documenter...
My solution is not going to help you one bit: I've begun transitioning to full 6x8 pages exclusively (single pocket). I love the white space, the composition possibilities in terms of mosaics and bringing together printables + journaling + photo(s) on one same background. As I said, won't help you one bit with your issue. Before that, I mounted on cardstock and slightly cut down the photo so it'd give you that nice faux photo border look.
