Has anyone tried this? Its sounds so good on the commercials. And I am sure it is not healthy at all.

My college town is famous (among students and visitors) for its garlic cheese burgers. They're served on french bread, which is grilled with garlic butter, and the burger also has garlic (maybe salt, powder?) mixed in. It's then topped with American cheese. Totally not healthy, but completely delicious. Welcome to our "GCB" infatuation!

What part isn't healthy? Garlic helps to prevent several ailments. Butter is an essential fat & a dairy product. Cheese is a dairy product. Beef is a protein. Bacon is a protein. Bread is a carb that everyone *needs* Any veggies (lettuce, tomato, pickle) is also healthy

I tried it a few weeks ago. The patty itself was pretty dry, but the first few bites were good, but I wasn't as impressed with it as I thought it would be. Sonic burgers can be hit or miss. I find if it has a lot of veggies and mayo on it, the patties taste better.
ETA: I have been making burgers through Hello Fresh and find so many different ways to bring taste to the burger that I might be turning into a bit of a burger snob.

I had one and really didn't think it was as good as it sounded.

I sometimes go to Sonic at least once a day for a Route 44 Diet Coke. I absolutely love Sonic drinks, but I've always thought their food was bad. (Except for the fried pickles we'd get when after school when we were in high school). The burger sounds good, but I think maybe I'd opt to try making one myself at home.

It is a less than stellar example of a fantastic idea.
Seriously, Sonic should just pare down their menu since so many people are like "Going to Sonic to get a drink, feeling a bit peckish, think I'll get a snack".
Might feel differently if there was some consistency in taste and quality. I usually stick to corn dogs. Those are good.
Would rather make my own GCB at home.

I really dislike sonic food (with the exception of premade stuff like cheese sticks or corndogs - which I can basically make at home from the freezer section of my grocery store). The concept of the burger sounds good though, I might try that next time we make burgers on the grill.

My ODS had a Hello Fresh box with a burger one time. We made it and it was so good. I can't for the life of me remember which one it was but I agree that it was a step above all other burgers. I need to ask him to check his recipe book next time I am there.

The best place to have one of these is Steak and Shake (but I know they are kinda regional).. They hit it right on the button. And their prices are extremely reasonable.

Our local fast food joint, Burgerville has a Vampire Slayer Burger with garlic roasted onions and garlic aioli that is so good, I get it with chicken, I wish it were a year round option, I don’t eat burgers or bacon, but if I did the Sonic version sounds delicious.

It needed more garlic butter for sure, then it would have tasted better. It's eh....

Let me know which one you liked.

This was my go to burger when my mom wanted to have lunch with the boys and "let" me tag along. DH hates steak n shake so I haven't had it in a long time.
