Accident or not, I'm interested in seeing how the Republicans spin this into being Obama's fault. He was looking at child porn uploaded by the celebrity trafficking ring. They are going to find a way to photoshop an additional tab on his laptop screen that looks sketchy.

Holy hell.  I don’t need the details, just the headline is bad enough. Even if his career survives, I’ll never look at him again the same. Maybe I’ll never look at him again at all, just to be on the safe side.  ITA. After how careful he's been when he's been debating Dershowitz (who was his law school professor), I am SO disappointed in this news.
ETA: I thought I read in my long Twitter feed on this, that they were all on a 2 min break on their Zoom meeting and he THOUGHT he turned the camera/sound off. Even that is an awful idea. Too lazy to go into another room? Not enough time? WTF got him excited enough to do this in 2 minutes? I don't think that he was videoing with anyone else, but I'm sure we'll hear about it soon enough. Again, it's too bad since he's a great lawyer. Juxtapose that with Dershowitz, who was buddies with Epstein and notoriously pervy with young girls. Or look at Jason Miller (better yet, don't!) who got 2 women pregnant while his wife was pregnant. He urged them to get abortions and when 1 of them didn't want to, he made her a notorious "smoothie", hoping she'd self-abort. True story. He was canned from CNN for about a year and then came back. I mean, WTF??? I didn't forget it! Who would forget that??? Why the hell hire him back? He's sick!!!!!!!! That, in my mind, is 10,000 times worse than this....... but we'll hear more about it soon.

ROFL !!!!!! I just told DH and he is just dyyyying laughing!!! My question is----WHY would he not go to ANOTHER ROOM, AWAY from his computer, with the chance that the camera MIGHT still be on ? WHO would take a chance like that? The only thing I can think of is that he (subconciously, maybe ? ) wanted to get caught? Now I can’t! 🤪 When my office first went remote in March, we talked about the importance of maintaining a professional atmosphere and keeping daily routines. Honestly, we could probably do without our 10:00 daily team meeting, but by checking in, we know everyone is awake and well. I remember joking with coworkers that if I ever stopped sharing video to please reach out because I was probably wearing the same clothes I had worn last Friday and hadn't showered in days! If I started hiding behind my zoom icon, I told them to stage an intervention, ETA: I never finished my post and didn’t realize I had submitted it.😯 So to finish that last thought....if I am hiding behind my Zoom icon, I probably need an intervention. After the Jeffrey Toobin incident, I don’t care how bad my hair looks or how wrinkled my shirt is, my camera will be ON. I don’t want anyone speculating about what is going on behind the scene LOL. |

I’m embarrassed for him. I used to be married to a man who couldn’t keep his hand off his dick. It was like a nervous thing. ( full disclosure: yes he was a sex addict ). The same way I pick on my skin if I’m nervous, or some people twirl their hair.
He didn’t do it around other people. But in the privacy of our home, his hands were in constant contact with his prized little man. It drove me crazy. But there was so much wrong with my life it was not at the top of my list.
So just saying, if he thought the vid was off, I can see this happening. And if he’s an otherwise decent guy, I feel bad for him.

My husband was clerking for a Supreme Court justice during the 2000 election debacle, and Toobin was trying to get a scoop on Bush v. Gore--both fairly intensely during the pending case and, then, for a few years afterwards. It was back in the days when we had a landline, so, often, I'd report to my husband, "hey, you have a message from Your New Best Friend," which was Toobin. I have to say, that experience gave me a tiny basement window into what it would be like to be at the center of a real news story or scandal (my husband was one of 40-ish clerks, so Toobin had a lot of potential sources to chase), and it's given me a lot of empathy for people who have to deal with such things. |
