This challenge is to make a card (or layout) that reflects your home area for 1 point. Bonus 1 point for every additional card or layout you make that reflects a different part of your home area. I live in a small town in Texas within driving distance of DFW, which gives me a lot of options. I chose to make a card for a young friend who became a widow 2 years ago. She and her late DH used to go country dancing together. Her 18 year old son took her country dancing on her last wedding anniversary, which meant a lot to her. The inside sentiment says, “Some days ya gotta put on your BOOTS and just DANCE.” Twist: make it pop-up, slide, or move in some way for an additional 3 points. Box cards count as a type of pop up card. The box card below is one that I made recently for another young friend. I made the train pop-up card for one of my grandsons last year. I frequently hear a distant train horn from my home, including right now as I post this. (I’m not on a team, so I feel comfortable including it as a sample, even though I made it a year ago.)

Thank you, grammadee! I need to use my pop up and other interactive dies more, too. I have other Karen Burniston dies still waiting to be used.

Oh scrapnnana , you had to make me look at Karen Burniston October Release video. I know I have very little patience--or skill for that matter--with putting together intricate cards. But I LOVE them! The set from her most recent release--available for pre order only right now--that intrigues me the most is the Slim frames die. The NOEL card in her preview that I linked is my favourite. What a cool idea: four cards in one! And BTW, is a barn with snow on the roof enough of a nod to a farm in northeastern Alberta at Christmas to work for this challenge?

I think that sounds great for the challenge! And now I need to go look at her recent release......

Thank you for the challenge, scrapnnana . Your cards are lovely and polished looking. Here is my pop up anniversary card. We live in the suburbs but go six miles and you are in the forest. On rare occasions bears and deer find their way to our yards. It will be our 35th anniversary on Monday.

CARDtober 22 by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr I think I might use this one for my brother who just got a new place. It's inspired by the trail that is right behind my apartment. I try to walk every day, and I often see many animals, including a whole family of deer.

It sounds like you have a charming place to go walking. I like the wood pattern and the deer stamp that you used. It’s a wonderful, masculine card. Thanks for joining in this challenge!
