Today's color scheme is inspired by this Day of the Dead pillow I made (before I learned more about cultural appropriation). ETA: But remember, it's just about the COLORS, not the theme! CARDtober share by jo.blackford, on Flickr My sample uses lots of similar bright colors with black and white: CARDtober share by jo.blackford, on Flickr I used distress oxide inks to color the heat embossed stamp which I painted on with a waterbrush, inspired by grammadee . I didn't have a die for this stamp (it's from an old SSS kit) so I had to cut it all out with scissors. That's your twist - detail/fussy-cut something with scissors for your card.

Lovely card, joblackford ! To be honest, I felt a bit intimidated by this project, till I realized it was about the bright colors with black & white, and fussy cutting. I fussy cut the strawberry tag, the butterflies, and the ladybug. I don’t have as much variety in the bright colors, just red and green, with a bit of pink, but I just really wanted to use this strawberry paper.

Oh funny I made a día de los muertos card for yesterday’s challenge Oh cool, I'll go take a look! Today's idea is more about the colors than the theme, I edited my post to reflect that, but feel free to use the same theme/holiday too if you want to.

I fussy cut the strawberry tag, the butterflies, and the ladybug. I don’t have as much variety in the bright colors, just red and green, with a bit of pink, but I just really wanted to use this strawberry paper. I just went back and re-read my post and clarified that yes, it's just about the bright colors and black and white. I don't mind how many bright colors people use actually your lovely example is great because it shows this color inspiration could be used for a Christmas card - I know that's what a lot of people are making right now. Or any other kind of card really. Your strawberry paper is very pretty and I love how you've brought the colors out with the butterflies. That little ladybug is my favorite. Thanks for playing along!

A birthday card for our nephew's wife created with the new Tula's Birthday Party from PhotoPlay. They have a sheet in the collection that is meant to be cut apart for cards. I used their die to cut out the focal image, but fussy cut the candle and greeting panels. The light was bad in here when I photographed this, but those papers are really bright white rather than the dirty cream they show up here. gnomie bd by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

jjpeapea I love the blue and yellow paired with black and white. the background panel is a cool design. Thanks for playing along! Do you have a recipient in mind for your card? grammadee wonderful bright colors and still loving the gnomes, I see! The black mats help break up all the patterns. I'm sure that card will be well received.

Used up some leftovers to create this card. Thanks for playing along! As I said on IG, I love it. And even better knowing you used leftovers/scraps.
