With all the ink and paints and glue and glitter and whatnot, crafting can get pretty messy. I'm considering getting a smock or apron to wear. Anyone that does this? IF so what do you have? Do. you use the pockets if you have them? I wear an apron in the kitchen a lot, so I'm already firmly in the pro-apron camp

I have an old tshirt with paint all over it - started when I was painting my condo walls and got some on, it has just continued and bloomed from there. I just wipe my hands on the tshirt. My friend wears a cute apron to cover her attire.

The Queen of Everything says I am to wear one of my aprons in my studio all the time. But she's not out there, so what happens out there stays out there. On laundry day there may be a "disCUSSion", but after all these years it's just a shake of her head and a sigh. Of course I do feel some remorse.

Oh Don, don't tell me that after all these years you never learned to do your own laundry !?! I did know how to do my laundry, quite satisfactorily, thank you. Then I got married. It seems there is a subtle difference between her laundry machines and the ones I learned on. There's no coin slot, you have to "sort", there are "settings", you can only do one load at a time, the soap thing is way different. So, like all the domesticating machinery in our home, the washer and dryer are on my "no contact" list, and I'm OK with that. Of course if there is a malfunction of either one, I am the first one to know because somehow it was my fault so I have to fix it ... and I'm OK with that too because I have people - on speed dial.

No, just around the house clothes. I will wear a yard shirt if I'm using inks, but I don't usually get super messy with it.

If I'm doing something messy then yes, I wear one of those Japanese style crossover ones I made myself. It wraps far enough round to cross right over, which is good, because I have a habit of wiping my hands on my backside when I'm working!! there are a few free patterns online - it took a surprising amount of fabric, but I found some cheap plaid cotton which works well and which I quite like.

Nope, although an apron sounds like a fun idea. I, literally, just use the inside of my t-shirt if I need to wipe my hands off or get up and wash them.

Oh Yes I wear a black bib apron with pockets. I love it. I wipe my hands on it and to me it’s like a pizza Stone the more seasoned/messy it gets the better lol.

I have an apron. But it's to cute to get dirty. Haha. I don't use glitter and i really don't make too much mess. I just use an old hand towel to wipe my hands on.

Mine has my name embroidered on it too. I got it from Memory Box when I worked for them. I wear it in my studio and when I teach. The messier the better.

I wear a plain black apron (bought over a decade ago at a big box craft store with a coupon) only when using mixed media (e.g. basic stamping, inking/glazing stencils, embossing).

I don’t, but I need to! I am constantly wiping my hands down my shirt front, on my pants... Fortunately I work as a nurse practitioner & only buy machine washable clothes. I do know one of these days I’m going to regret not wearing one...
