Having spoken so highly of my MAC products - including my iPhone 7 -- I'm now having an "issue" with the ancient beast. I'm not receiving text messages from my youngest sister and my son. I receive junk text messages and text messages from the doorbell camera, but not messages from those 2 people denominated as "favorites". I've checked everything I can think of - I've checked everything that "looks like" it might be relevant. To no avail - in other words, nothing seemed to change and the text messages on my other sister's phone did NOT appear on mine (her phone is a Samsung.) Do any MAC people have suggestions, guesses, help ?? Please this particular MAC product apparently doesn't want me to be happy -- and I've done nothing but love it! LOL!!

I have no suggestions for you as I am a technical dork, but the idea that your doorbell camera texts you tickles me to no end. So thanks for that. Hope someone can help you with your problem.

Well - I'm glad that you are delighted!! The door bell seems to be particularly sensitive as it notifies us when ever a vehicle passes on the road! If we adjust the "sensitivity - it doesn't bother to tell us when the UPS guy is here!

I'm not receiving text messages from my youngest sister and my son. Do they use iPhones also? If so, are those texts coming as iMessages? Double check your message settings, to see that iMessage didn't get shut off. You also need to have a wi-fi or data connection for those messages to come in. I have had all kinds of wacky things go on with iMessage.

Are you on Verizon? Are not not receiving texts or Apple iMessages? ( meaning they also have apples )?
If you are in Verizon that has on occasion happened between me & my youngest. I get all the messages eventually all at once. Never been able to figure out why.
I’m not particularly good at troubleshooting I leave that to my youngest. When I can’t get me phone to do something I buy him dinner and ask him to fix whatever is wrong. Works for me. I hope you get your issues sorted out

You've double checked that you're not accidentally blocking them?

I’d try restarting your phone. If that doesn’t work, try removing them from your favorites and/or deleting and adding them again.

Try this: Settings, Messages, iMessage. Turn iMessage on and off a few times waiting about 30 seconds in between. Then restart your phone.

While both of the phones NOT sending text messages are different -- one iPhone, one Samsung -- when I did what you suggested, MY phone started buzzing in my hand! I'd turned off cellular service ... somehow, someway - who knows the reason! But THANK YOU -- problem fixed!!

In my excitement I totally forgot to say thank you to ALL who so kindly and generously responded peano (peano) , iowgirl , hop2 , Darcy Collins , seasidemermaid , lizacreates! This --- the kindness, the generosity, the wisdom without condescension -- this is what makes 2Peas the place it is for me. We can be testy, we can be sharp, we can be bitchy -- but, IMHO experience, we are ALWAYS funny, we are ALWAYS smart, and we ALWAYS share! Thank you

Glad you got it fixed. Technology is great until it’s not right? 😁

I'd turned off cellular service ... somehow, someway - who knows the reason! Yep - my iPhone doesn't like it when I don't have my data turned on, even if I am in a wi-fi hotspot. It messes up my texts. Glad your going!

Thank you Completely unrelated to phones, I was having a panic attack earlier today, and after taking med to help, I sat down and got on the board hoping some light reading would distract me. I saw that a post from several days ago was quoted, and found a very sweet message from a pea. It was absolutely unexpected, and brought tears to my eyes, and I almost started a thread entitled, “This is what I love about this place!” We’re a good bunch, and I love this place. OP: I’m glad your issue was resolved. Nothing more irritating than tech problems.
