I am watching a miniseries on Netflix called The Queen’s Gambit, based on a 1983 novel about an orphan who becomes a chess prodigy and her emotional struggles along the way. It unexpectedly drew me in from the beginning; I’m halfway through now.
How about you?

Tonight we're watching Mandalorian season 2!!! My son planned a bunch of snacks and we're going to watch as a family.
But other than that, I've been binge watching NCIS New Orleans. I'm on season 2.

We rewatched the first season of the Mandalorian, season 2 starts today and I'm so excited. I also watched season 2 of the Alienist, not as good as the first but still enjoyable (given the subject matter that might be a weird thing to say!)

We're watching The Queen's Gambit, too. DH is making us parse it out to one per night. We'll finish it Saturday before DD goes home. I would have binged the whole thing in one night if left to my own.

I am also watching older seasons of The Great British Baking Show on Netflix. It's a lovely break from all of the election coverage!

Uplifting story, highly recommend. We just finished watching Haunting of Bly Manor this week.

I just finished 11-22-63 on Hulu last night and really liked it. LOVED the book, had no idea it had been turned into a series or movie! Thanks! ? re: Hulu. I don't subscribe. How much does it cost and s it worth it? DH and I recently watched and loved AWAY, with Hilary Swank. Everything about it was perfection, in my opinion. We are now watching The Queen's Gambit and really enjoying it.

I just finished 11-22-63 on Hulu last night and really liked it. I LOVED the book, but didn't realize it was made into a show. I think that was one of Stephen King's best. ETA: flanz We were posting at the same time! I should have waited and said "What she said!"

Probably the same as most - around $7 a month? I like it more for TV show type stuff than movies. We don't have any cable, but have Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Hulu. I find I'm about 60/40 Netflix/Hulu and really never think to look on Amazon for something to watch unless I want a specific thing not on Netflix or Hulu.

ETA: flanz We were posting at the same time! I should have waited and said "What she said!" The movie is VERY different then the book. VERY. I liked both, though, but other then the basic concept of what is happening it is VERY different. I read the book first then immediately started watching the series so the differences really stood out to me. Hulu is really cheap if you bundle it with Disney Plus.

Oh this is a thread I can get behind! 😂
As a family, we are watching The Good Place. We just started season 3 last night. I am rewatching Bones because it was a favorite of mine but I only watched it the once before and wanted to watch it again after knowing some of the story arcs. I am in the middle of season 3 of that one.

I'm sure this isn't what you hoped for, but I'm busy watching all the Hallmark Christmas movies! Yes to all the comments about predictability and corn, but I'm eating it up right now!!!

I usually watch TV at night with DS who majored in film at college. The past 2 weeks have all been about scary movies due to the season. So far we have watched:
Halloween 1 and 3 Pitch Black Blade 1 and 2 Alien 1 and 2 The Invisible Man (the most recent version) Shaun of the Dead Day of the Dead 28 Days Later Event Horizon
For myself I've been watching various movies. I like foreign movies when I'm not knitting and can read the subtitles. Korean scary movies are excellent. DS and I watched one called "I Saw the Devil" about a serial killer. I love German movies because I like hearing the language of my childhood. I watched a movie on DVD in German from my local library called "Vision" about St. Hidegard of Bigen. It was good. I watched a movie about two half sisters that I think was from Norway. They were scuba divers who dived even in winter! Anyway, they did a diving trip to a local lake and there is an accident-one of the sisters gets stuck underwater. The film is very suspenseful and is about the other sister trying to rescue her before all her air runs out. It was so well written, filmed and acted. It's called "Breaking Surface".
When knitting I've been watching "Grey's Anatomy" again. I'm on season 19 I think. Will be finished with it soon. It's a great show where I don't have to pay too much close attention and can still knit.

My husband and I binged 3 episodes of The Queens Gambit last night and are loving it. Neither one of us are chess players but this story is such a well-done character-driven story you don't have to be a chess follower to enjoy the story. I highly recommend it.
