DD13 would like to watch some good basic videos on applying makeup. What are favorites for your young teen girls just beginning to experiment with some light makeup?

I agree....Lisa Eldridge is where I'd go, her own website is her name dot com. Go to her videos page.....there's some particularly aimed at younger girls.

I also took my dd to Ulta and had them do her make-up. It was WONDERFUL. The girl who did it knew her stuff and gave my dd all sorts of tips.

Thank you! I will pass these on to DD.
I took DD13 to Sephora tonight and they did the computer color match on her skin. The lady who did it was great. After they found a good light foundation for her, she asked DD if she had any other questions or things she wanted to learn. DD replied that she would like some tips on making her eyes look better (her words). The lady called another sales person over, explaining that she was the best at eyes. Second lady spends seriously almost a half an hour with DD13, giving her tips and showing her how to compliment her eyes. She was so sweet with DD, explaining to her what colors looked best, how to apply mascara in an easier manner, etc. Nothing was overdone; it was all subtle and very flattering. DD was floating on air when they were done...she said she was really scared to ask for help because she was afraid they would be condescending to her because she was not an adult.

Was planning to do this as a summer outing but must find a sephora in a mall not near our house. God forbid someone see her learning. :/

Just marking my spot since my teen is just starting to show an interest in make up.
