Currently sitting in my basement like a mushroom, quarantined from the rest of my family upstairs. Found out yesterday I was directly exposed by a positive person for an extended period of time on Monday and Tuesday at work. We had to shut our center down yesterday morning and go get tested. Hoping for negative results for everyone, esp so that we can be open to work with our clients on Monday. It’s not good when we don’t have consistency. 😢
I am slightly concerned. I’ve had a stiff nose/congestion and drainage for a couple of days. I feel like I need to cough often. Sometimes I do. No fever though. Hopefully I am just dealing with the new cold weather and pressure change and am also being a hypochondriac.
ETA: also, they have modified the way they administer the test! They are no longer stabbing your brain with the swan on each side. 🤣. Now they just stick it in each nostril and twirl it around roughly. So this test wasn’t as uncomfortable as my last one (mandatory precaution). 😁

I'm so sorry. My hubs was exposed, quarantined but didn't get it. Our dtr did and now tests negative. Now our granddaughter has it and is quarantined. It's out there!

Hopefully it’s negative! But I’m surprised you don’t have to stay quarantined for the full 14 days.

Hopefully it’s negative! But I’m surprised you don’t have to stay quarantined for the full 14 days. Yeah... how can you be open on Monday? The health department tells us that if we are directly exposed it's a 14 day quarantine. If it's someone in your house, you have to quarantine for 10 days from the onset of symptoms for the positive person, and 14 days AFTER that for everyone else in the house. My SIL is on her second 24 day quarantine because her son got it in August and now her husband has it.

If I were working here it would be a 10-14 day quarantine for sure. I will go look this up. Maybe because we are considered essential workers has something to do with it? I honestly don’t know.

I hope that you didn’t contract the virus! Here’s hoping for a negative result that stays that way.

I am a little concerned that my test will be negative, but that I’ll actually have it but not find out because why get another test right after a negative one. I don’t like this situation. Although, my company has mandatory monthly Covid tests, and our next scheduled test is next week. So I guess that is a good thing. Ugh.

Our daughter quarantined because her boyfriend’s sister got it. She couldn’t get tested right away she had to wait 7 days. Once she tested she was negative, but the doctor told her she had to quarantine another 7 after she received her negative results to ensure there wasn’t something hiding.
So, she was in our basement the whole time. It’s finished and set up as a complete other level of our home. It has a full bathroom, wet bar, fridge, and microwave. I put food at the top of the stairs. She’d come up to get it, eat and toss all the dishes and cups in a separate garbage bag. I gave her 3 bags—garbage, recycling, laundry.
She had a good set up. So she worked during the week, then crafted and watched movies at night and on the weekends.

Yes exactly. ☹️ I am quite distressed over all of this. I am super irritated that the person that exposed us came in on Tuesday when she knew she was sick with something (actively coughing and sniffling/sneezing), sat in our office across from us, to tell us that she was sick and couldn’t come to work. My coworker and I were like, “uuhhhhh wtf did you come in here in the first place!?!? Call us on the phone and tell us you’re too sick to come in! Also you have to go get tested NOW”.

BIL is still pretty sick, he went to the hospital Tuesday night, has double pneumonia now too but his oxygen levels are staying steady so they are letting him continue to recover at home (he has a little finger O2 monitor). SIL started feeling bad so got tested yesterday... positive!
