When I was around 4, my cousins and I were in the audience of the Bozo show. At the end of the show they passed a microphone around for kids to tell jokes and stuff. We got to say happy birthday to our grandma. That checked appearing on a reality TV show off my list

I would really like to get on WHEEL OF FORTUNE. My cousin’s daughter did, and won $25,000! Of course, now I’m afraid I’d get on there and not do well. I’d get a lot of teasing if that happened 😂

In the early days of the Real World, I wanted to do that. But then I got married and had kids so that was out.
Now? I’d love Supermarket Sweep!

My friend was on Price is Right. Won a bunch of stuff
We all think my son should go on Alone.
I’ve always dreamed of Jeopardy, but as my anxiety has taken hold of my life, that would be a no go.

Oh, heck no!
DH was involved in 2 Extreme Makeover Home Edition episodes. It's pretty interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. He was on camera briefly.

my ds (25) applied a couple years ago to go on Amazing Race Canada with his friend, but it was a year they were looking for first responders so he didn't qualify. He hasn't applied again but thats because he can't take that much time off work. He would still love to do it. He would also apply for survivor in a heartbeat if they accepted canadians. I made him promise that I would be his family member visit!

I watch a fair bit of reality TV. I'd never go on Survivor or the Amazing Race etc, I'm quite risk averse so that would never work. I'd be in the medical tent every 10 minutes. I enjoy shows where they actually have a skill (singing, sewing, cooking) but I'm not at a level of any of those where' I'd want to or be able to compete on TV, plus it always looks way too stressful. Quiz type shows are out as well as I'm not that quick...I often know the answers but need more than 2 seconds to remember it, then add the pressure of being filmed and I'd probably freeze totally. Maybe "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" would work, as that show moves so slowly and I'm generally good at multiple choice questions...but if the question is about (most) sports, history or geography, then I'm screwed. The only reality TV show I would/could have gone on a few years ago when it was in it's hey day would have been Big Brother...sitting around in a house is something I can do, plus I've got opinions on everything & everyone that I'm happy to share...and that's exactly what they wanted. Gogglebox is the other one I could do...se above about opinions... However I've never wanted to be famous in any way, never had any ambition to be on stage, or perform, or be recognized, so being on TV is not something I would ever seriously consider. I did agree to be in Marie Clare (magazine) one time, I met the Aussie editor at a party and she was saying how they have trouble getting Aussies to be in the magazine when they do those features where they interview ordinary women, I was like "sure I'd do that", but when it came to crunch time...I backed out.

There is not enough prize money in the world to induce me to apply for any tv show.

I was once on TV for 5 minutes. I would actively do anything never to be on TV again.
The crazies come out after you. I wasn't giving a political opinion or anything. I had been in a serious car accident and that was it. The letters I got! I was the subject of one professor's dissertation and it was SO SO weird.
Just never, unless I wore a mustache and dark glasses and used an assumed name.

No way.
I have a couple of acquaintances who were on a weight loss based reality show and not only were their stories both almost completely fictionalized, they received substandard medical care during the shooting period. They both feel very much used and exploited but did benefit at least somewhat from the experience.
The fictionalization of their stories was accomplished by the producers deciding whether they would be a "good guy" or "bad guy" persona up front, then scripting and arranging contrived scenarios to support the narrative, instigating drama, and choosing and arranging footage to craft a storyboard. They shoot hundreds upon hundreds of hours of footage, and essentially use it all as mosaic pieces to cut and piece together into the story they wish to tell.
The medical mismanagement was more serious. They were both told upon signing the contracts that all their healthcare needs during filming would be addressed and that their health was top priority. This wasn't true. One was promised help from the production staff in procuring healthcare coverage in the shooting state, but it didn't happen in a timely manner and they suffered a relapse in a chronic medical condition. One was offered care for an issue by a provider affiliated with the show who wasn't certified or skilled in that particular specialty (but this participant had personal resources to go get treatment elsewhere). Both had chronic medicical issues that affected their health and their daily lives which were not disclosed on the show. The participant who was assigned a "bad guy" persona who had the relapse, had their physical challenges depicted as signs of laziness and lack of motivation, instead of the pain and suffering caused by the relapse of the chronic medical condition that was the true cause of it.
Reality TV really isn't about reality.

I’ve auditioned for both the Great Canadian Baking Show, and also Master Chef Canada (the producers contacted me and asked me to apply) but I don’t think I’d actually want to be on TV.
