I thought the US was going to send it all to us on Wednesday night which was why we start our lockdown on Thursday.  Interestingly, we came out of our first lockdown on July 3rd - your Independence Day weekend. |

Someone I know posted this on Facebook (and they were being serious!) a few days ago. It is sad how delusional some people are. Do these people not read? Not understand viruses? Don't see the whole world is struggling with this right now and it's not some plot against Trump? I am completely bewildered.

A friend actually told me that this would probably be over after the election. I agreed! I assumed she meant if Biden wins, we would finally get mask mandates and get the virus under control. I thought that was the only way to interpret it. But I was wrong, she meant because the democrats were making it up! I stopped giving her hand sanitizer and clorox wipes from my extras!

While this will not affect Trump’s presidential bid, I do find it brings me a bit of a smug smile. Our Republican Governor has tweeted his support of Dr Fauci and has been vocal that he doesn’t support/agree with Trump. We have a governor’s election this year and Trump supporters will either have to vote for him or for the very liberal democrat. The thing that stood out to me is he is assuming that pollsters don't tell the truth AND he is assuming that when these people are fibbing, they are saying they are voting for Biden to save face when in fact, they are voting for Trump. The "shy" Trump voter. Yeah, I don't think there are shy Trump voters though. |

Sigh. My own DH was spouting some similar nonsense a few weeks ago, and I was like, seriously WTF dude? BOTH of your parents were SCIENTISTS! You can’t *really* be that dumb. Meanwhile, in our part of the Midwestern world, cases are up over 15%, Covid is spiking and they’re talking about moving all the hybrid middle and high school kids to full time distance learning. I am SO glad I chose 100% online for my kid from the outset, at least all that tumult won’t affect our family. |
