I just don't understand the big secret. Why wouldn't he use this to promote wearing masks and social distancing? It's not a political issue, it's a public health issue.

I think celebrities don’t have to put it all out there, but when you are directly in the line of succession, it would be nice to have part of your public service be raising awareness via your own experience here.

There would have been endless media speculation about succession, and the papers would have been full of "if William dies" scenarios. Not something, I guess, they wanted the children to see. |

Because they are entitled to a private life. There was no mask mandate in the UK at the time and they were abiding by the rules. The UK was in total lockdown. As wellway said he would have been dead and buried by the media and all hell would have broke loose, while at the same time they would have been preparing to crown a child prince before you could blink. Prince Charles had it at the same time. I wouldn't want my children to see that kind of reporting either if I was him, if it were true. As far as I know no official statement has been made. The story was first reported by the Sun newspaper from their source at the palace.Even if he did have it, it must have been pretty mild as he was carrying out zoom meeting and such like during the time span they say he had it. |

I totally understand the decision, if it he did, in fact, have it. The way the media jumps on every little thing, making mountains out of molehills, and endlessly speculating, with their attention grabbing headlines competing for clicks, that’s all the country or their family needed!
The invasion of privacy so many feel they are entitled to, because they paid less than the price of a cup of coffee per year to support an entire institution that brings many times over that in revenue for the Country just boggles my mind.
