Happy New Week. How on earth is it November? Today I was able to get an appt w/my acupuncturist. I'm so glad. Last night dh had the last of the rechauffe for dinner. Tonight I will make the chicken teriyaki bowl. Dh spent all weekend painting the kitchen a pretty shade of gray. I'll stage it over the week. I finally got rid of all of the crap on our back counter. No more junk on the counter!
What's on your menu?
Wishing each one of you a happy week w/good thoughts, smiles and more grins.

Happy Monday
We are having shepherds pie tonight, made with the leftovers from last night's roast beef dinner.

Happy Monday! Beautiful day here and DH is working downtown! I've got to run out after lunch to get a few things at the grocery and pick up a prescription for DH. I plan to stop in Dillard's since it's close and look for something to wear to an outdoor bridal shower this Sunday. I have a nice black shift dress, but need a jacket to put on over it. I really like the Ming Wang line so will check out what they have. Hopefully I won't have to order something. Dinner tonight will be the chicken noodle soup I made last night. I tried a new recipe and we like this one the best of the ones I've made so far. Hope everyone has a great day!

Today is our first day of 'lockdown lite'. It doesn't really affect us a lot - Work from Home is recommended but not obligatory, so DH is still going into the (nearly empty) office until he is told otherwise, nearly all shops are still open, just with restricted numbers, and we are permitted to go out for exercise. That just about covers my normal day - I am not even shopping much, just groceries and toiletry essentials.
Dinner tonight is an Ottolenghi recie I made once before that we liked - Chicken Marbella with cous cous. The chicken is marinated in a mix that contains green olives, capers, red wine vinegar and dates, so it is sweet, salty, a bit acidic and totally yum. The marinating chicken is in the fridge, so I just need to cook it once I knw what time DH will be coming home.

Dh spent all weekend painting the kitchen a pretty shade of gray. I'll stage it over the week. I want to see pictures!!! Hello, everyone. I'm having a pretty busy day of work today but things are going really smooth. I have tomorrow off for election day so a bunch of things to finish today. Tonight I think I will make a pasta I made once before. It is linguine noodles with bacon and butternut squash, topped off with shaved parmesan. I think it's delicious. Jeremy not a fan of squash, but loves bacon. So he will eat it happily picking around his squash.

jeremysgirl, I would gladly post photos, but I don't know how. If I can post I will do so. Dh still has one area to paint, but it'll be a couple weeks, because he's on call this week through next Monday am. He can't commit to projects when he's on call.

Good morning ladies!!
It's super cold here today. 34ยฐ and the wind is terrible! So it feels like the low 20s. I'm taking dh's car for an oil change this afternoon and I'm not really looking forward to going out.
Today is a pretty quiet day. It's also the last day of the girls' quarantine so it'll be back to busy in no time. They start they're new job tomorrow(working at a brand new drive thru only Dunkins). And their 16th birthdays are next week. Not sure how that happened.
Dinner tonight is air fryer chicken, gnocchi, and corn.

sueg Can you refresh my memory... are you an American living in Germany? Or are you German? Neither! I am an Australian living in Germany. My DH (also Australian) was asked to come here and work 'for a year' with the company he was with back home - that was in 2009, I followed a year later, and we are still here!

Hi Everyone! scrapmaven Enjoy your time at the acupuncturist! This morning we had new blinds installed in the entire house. What a difference it makes and how the house feels and looks. Tonight for dinner, I am making rosemary and garlic pork tenderloin, with cauliflower rice, green beans and salad. I hope that all of you have a wonderful day!

And my grandfather is of German descent so I'd like to visit.

Most likely when DH retires. once all this Covid nonsense is over, and we can travel again, you should get over here. Germany is a really lovely country, and I think quite underrated for tourism by people outside Europe.

Good morning,
Nice fall day here again. All week is suppose to be right at 70 degrees. Saturday will drop 10 degrees and then the next few days after that will be mid 30s to low 40s. Brrrr!
Been busy doing some book work, entering in my mom's grocery order, and doing some shopping and planning for mom's 90th birthday celebration 2.5 weeks. So hard to do much because of the virus and her age.
Instead of the fish sticks I mentioned yesterday, that picture of the tray of peel garlic was calling my name and so we had Mod Pizza Salad's with extra roasted garlic. They are sooooo yum! So, tonight we will have the fish sticks with tater tots and sliced fresh veggies and dip.
Hope everyone had a super weekend and the week ahead will bring each of you a blessing.

Picking up my new puppy tonight. So itโs pizza.
The owner has named her Lucy. We will decide after we meet her if she keeps it. Yesterday dh came home from his tournament and decided I didnโt dog proof enough so he did more. This from the man who doesnโt care about pets.

teddyw , can't wait for puppy pictures!
scrapmaven , I hope your acupuncture is extra great today.
I'm actually taking a personal day today, something I rarely do. We have tomorrow off for election day, so this gave me a LONG weekend. Much needed emotionally and physically.
I'm thrilled to be home today, but I wouldn't call it a fun day. I had my mammogram this morning, worked on our insurance, followed by errands (I did find myself a new winter coat!), and now I'm headed back out to get an oil change for the car. SIGH. Trying to get all these things done in one day so I can enjoy tomorrow. I already voted, so tomorrow will be a relaxing day at home. NO TV news coverage tomorrow...I need to be in a happy place.
ETA: forgot about dinner when I hit post...soup or cottage pie.

The chicken is marinated in a mix that contains green olives, capers, red wine vinegar and dates, so it is sweet, salty, a bit acidic and totally yum. Chicken Marbella is a winter favorite for us! I mostly follow the Silver Palate version made with dried plums instead dates. I made it once for friends and all the adults reaching a certain age were having a bit of a giggle over me serving them prunes which went right over the heads of our young adults eating with us. The kids knew stewed prunes were something Grandpa ate regularly (to keep regular ) and had no idea dried plums were, in fact, the same thing as prunes. Picking up my new puppy tonight. We will need photos. I ended up grilling sausages and vegetables yesterday so have put the leftovers off limits. They will be chopped, heated and added to quinoa with a tablespoon or two of Trader Joe's zhoug sauce. Super easy and tasty dinner.

Just got back from our walk and am getting ready to start the laundry. I'm thinking ribs with yellow squash, fruit salad and a green salad. That meme perfectly describes what I want to do in front of my neighbors camera. He has one that basically faces into our backyard and I feel like we lost a sense of privacy when we sit on our patio. I need to run around in our backyard in random costumes and see if he says anything. Teletubbie, Darth Vader, maybe Pennywise. ๐

scrapmaven Iโll give you a turtorial on how to post images from a host. So easy. We want to see that kitchen revamp. ๐ Iโm going to put up fall/Halloween decor today. Iโm not putting Christmas up yet, but I am going to bring it all down so itโs ready to go in a week or two. I have a new tree I bought this summer that Iโm so excited to finally get out of the box. Itโs a 7.5 ft FLOCKED. Iโve always wanted a flocked. ๐๐๐
๐ผ Tonight Iโm making French onion chicken with roasted mixed veggies.

Thank you! The cigarettes turned out really good. Brings back memories of growing up, that is for sure. Always a full ashtray somewhere, with a beer can or bottle!
