Is be happy if they just made sure our politicians knew this information. Sorry about your state. Signed ~ my head exploded in Texas a couple of hours ago How do we go about splitting our electoral vote like Nebraska and Maine? I don't want to be electorally associated with the part of the state that has its head in its ass. Blue cities in red states deserve to be represented, too. If Omaha and Portland ME can be represented, why can't Houston, Dallas, SA and Austin? I get what you are saying and I really don't have an answer for you other than on the flip side, those of us not in urban areas would feel the same if flipped. Loads of articles out there about electoral college and rural voters. I'll give you a great example with COVID. Initially, feds acted based on urban area COVID spread. Here? We didn't have case one until months later. NOW, with the midwest/rural areas being impacted more fully, funding like the CARES act are getting pulled back so people in our area got to experience the financial hardship of shut down, when not even warranted locally, yet now when we need it, fatigue has set in and that ship sailed with urban areas. I get the vote thing, but there's also the representation piece of the electoral college still to me for POTUS level from my rural perspective.

So, AP have Biden at 264 - giving him AZ. It's going to be hard to walk away from the laptop and go to sleep...

And I'm not taking my Biden sign down until the win. I did notice many on my block take their Trump signs down today. Interesting .... I live in a townhome and quite literally am probably the youngest on the entire block. It became like the battle of the yard signs in old folks town the last few weeks. LOL.

Hahahaha Eric trump tweeted that they Won PA. Trevor Noah’s response: “Good Point. The constitution clearly says, “A state’s electors can be won if the President’s second dumbest son calls dibs” Lololololol Lolololol is right. LOL. Twitter quippers are so clever. The teacher in me keeps thinking about how there’s an age that children are ready to play board games. Younger than that, when losing they pull stunts like flipping the board, moving their game piece ahead, capturing the other guy’s piece ... or just sitting on the other kid’s head and declaring himself the winner. It’s like Himself is going to try that whole array of shenanigans.

I was just thinking the same thing- except it’s 11.30 😉 but not sure I can last another couple of hours! "On the next episode of Saved by Biden..." Ugh, I'm so tempted to see if I can wait it out but my poor sleep schedule! What to do, what to do? I don't want to unduly influence you Europeans, but GA is expected to give results in 2 hrs. If we get GA, we're at 280. Just sayin' Good-night

It's half past midnight here. To go to sleep and possibly miss the 270 mark, o to stay awake, that is the question. We are watching West Wing to keep me entertained and not falling into my dinner plate since I didn’t sleep at all last night. I’m in it for the OMG long haul I think, pretty sure I would just keep neurotically checking every 15 minutes. At least this way I go 45 without chomping at the bit!

Do you think under a different president with different priorities, that COVID might not be a back burner issue at the federal level right now? To be fair, they did precious little for the urban areas, either, until the situation was dire. And of course our numbers are all ramping up again, and there's no help for us, either.

This is at least our 6th time to go through the series I think, and we still look at each other so many times an episode to declare that we love this show. FYI, just saw a post on Dule Hill’s Instagram of his toddler son wearing his tap shoes trying to ‘dance’. You can tell he watches Dule a lot because he tries to imitate him. One of the cutest things I have ever seen. Also, how many times an episode do you think Charlie says “yes sir,” and how many different inflections and facial expressions for those two words does he have in his repertoire? That should be long not OMG hall. Wee bit tired.

I have a good friend who lives near Houston and while I think her particular area is more conservative, it ticks her off every time she votes that her vote won't really count. Right now she is just livid. Yes. If we were three east-coast-sized states, we could be two blue states and a red one. It's infuriating. To me, this is why the EC and the Senate are so messed up. People who happen to be in the same state don't necessarily have the same voting priorities. The states are all different sizes and have different populations. Why does Wyoming get two red senators, and Houston, which could fill four or five Wyomings by itself, has zero blue senators? We are being taxed - to the benefit of the red rural areas, I might add - without representation. Trust and believe that neither Cornyn nor Cruz is representing the interests of Texas' blue cities at the national level.

We are quoting "do not tempt fate," and "You want to tempt the wrath of whatever from high atop the thing?" I also didn't sleep last night. I took about a 4 hour nap, but I am definitely feeling it. I feel more positive that I will sleep tonight. Or at least if I don't it will be for the typical reason (cats, DH snoring, too warm).

I absolutely do under a different leader. I merely used COVID as an example of the how a fed focus on urban areas and subsequent population numbers when considering initiatives and legislation could easily skew toward holistically urban areas leaving rural America in the representation dust. It was a nationwide shut down. Didn't fit well here. Big country with diverse needs and not one size fits all for sure on some issues the feds get into that is better left to the states individually in my opinion. From my perspective, especially with POTUS and elections if the EC was overturned, it would flip the underrepresentation feeling. I think we would both agree this POTUS absolutely overstepped his federal responsibility boundaries numerous times. The feds need to stay on fed issues ... equal rights, national security, etc. etc. but they do have a tendency to create significant issues for us in less populated areas in favor of more populated areas. Just my opinion as I don't think you are wrong, I just don't have the answer in my head without just switching the core issue to another segment of the population. Does that make sense? I'm probably babbling nonsense here.

Trump campaign files lawsuit Georgia, seeking to pause vote count
WASHINGTON (AP) – President Donald Trump’s campaign and the Georgia Republican Party have filed a lawsuit against the Chatham County Board of Elections asking a judge to order the county to secure and account for ballots received after 7 p.m. on Election Day.
State party Chairman David Shafer said in a statement Wednesday night that they planned to sue in a dozen counties.
The lawsuit alleges that a Republican observer watched a poll worker take unprocessed absentee ballots from a back room and mix them into processed absentee ballots waiting to be tabulated.
In Georgia, ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to count. Chatham County contains Savannah and leans Democratic.
Georgia is among a handful of states that The Associated Press has not called. In the race to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency, Democrat Joe Biden currently has 264 while Trump has 214.
