Well, my county in NC is in. Same results as last time - 79% for Trump. No big surprise, there are Trump signs everywhere.

I just checked Yahoo. I like how they separate the states into “up for grabs”, “lean red”, “lean blue”. I am just watching the “up for grabs” section. It is nerve wracking! And some numbers are surprising me.

What's the deal with Trump over performing with hispanic voters? In Florida it is Cuban and Venezuelan vote. Two traditionally very conservative Latino enclaves. Other Hispanic voters tend to be more liberal. I’m not suprised by the southern Florida results.

I'm still trying to get my head around your voting system. Can someone please explain to me why in Virginia, the way I'm reading it, the Democrats only have around 40% of the vote but the state looks like it's been declared for them? Or is that not what those figures mean? I "think" what you are referring to are news channels "calling a state." Each channel has a league of statisticians and political experts that study election results and once it is statistically impossible for the election results to turn the state differently in the electoral college, they call the state for the win. Does that make sense? There are two states that it is not winner take all on the electoral college. Nebraska is one I believe if memory serves. I can't recall the other. m Nebraska and Maine I believe split their votes.

I’m on my third glass of wine and not enjoying myself here. I've given up on the wine and have moved on to the hard stuff. Same, started with Chardonnay, now on to scotch.

As of 9 p.m. ET, we’re at 73 B / 48 T. AND TX IS CLOSE. Who’d have thunk that? Go mix yourselves another cocktail.

What’s going to happen with all the mail-in votes? When they’re counted, will the Supreme Court make the decision about whether or it they’re valid — like what happened with Gore and Bush?

I guess it is true that more Democrats vote by mail or vote early. I noticed lot of states with early results (less than 20%) have Biden with a HUGE lead, but then it gets eaten away as more results come in.

What’s going to happen with all the mail-in votes? When they’re counted, will the Supreme Court make the decision about whether or it they’re valid — like what happened with Gore and Bush? The court has already ruled on several challenges with mail-in votes. In many cases, they declined to rule and let the lower court rulings stand. It remains to be seen what additional challenges will go before the court. Probably depends on how close things are.

I’m an educated woman but some of this shit has me derped. How in the actual fuck can they say Trump has won OK with only 35% of the ballots counted. I mean, I know he will win OK, but still. 😖 At least Biden won my county. #smallfavors

Or is that not what those figures mean? The cities aren't in yet in Virginia. Those counties will likely go for Biden as Democrats do better in urban areas. No media outlets that I'm monitoring have called Virginia yet. So far, every state called has gone the way it was expected to go. Virginia has called Virginia. All of our local media is saying Democrat. They know what’s left. 😂

They will declare Biden a winner in California probably within an hour after the polls closed because we lean so heavily blue.

It seems the biggest blue counties have already reported in haven’t they? El Paso County or whatever that is named. Is there another near Harris or Dallas county that we can expect a decent blue turnout? My county went red for President, as expected since we started out around 85% registered Reps last I checked. But, our district looks like it might dump the Rep incumbent so yay!

I have to be at work at 7:15 tomorrow no matter what happens. But I've taken several photos of the blue Texas on CNN because it makes me happy ... even if it doesn't last.

And before peeps accuse me of watching Fox, I don't outside of tonight as I'm pinging back and forth between CNN and Fox to compare.
