I feel sick right now. I don’t have a good feeling about this at all. That it is so close does not bode well for Biden, I fear. I don’t know how I’ll make it through another 4 years of Trump. I just don’t understand it. I had the clown winning all along. I hate to say it but I did. I think, once again, we picked the wrong person. And Biden was my original choice. At this point, it isn’t about the Democratic choice. They will say it is, but honestly that is a cop out. The real reason is that there are a lot of people Out there who are either really uninformed or really shitty. Any candidate should have been able to beat trump. But the lies and those who believe them have taken over. I’m sick of people blaming democrats for trump.

Big picture: Biden doesn't need to win FL, GA, NC, OH, TX or IA.
He needs to win MI *and* WI.
He needs to win ME-2 *or* NE-2.
Then he needs to win PA *or* AZ.
In this scenario, winning PA gets Biden to 279.
Winning AZ gets him to 270.

I think there are a lot of unusual things about this election that make it hard to predict. It’s possible mail-in ballots will be more decisive this time.

I may have to take back my girl crush on Nate Silver. THey may also have to fire that professor from American Univ. who said Biden would win (and that he'd correctly predicted every election since like 1800s)

Texas and Florida are both still pink. They could still change.

Another thought—have any states counted their absentee ballots yet?

I would agree with that somewhat, but they’re already showing black rural votes still not what they were for Obama in parts of North Carolina. I don’t know it’s about choice, but you can’t scream he’s racist and then not vote.

Y'all need to start praying. My daughters are doom texting me, sure that Trump will win and they're screwed.
Please and thank you. This old lady needs at least a couple of hours of sleep. I simultaneously want to beat DH and am envious of DH that he can compartmentalize & drift off to sleep no problem. Grrrrrrr

I have a friend who voted Trump because shes fanatically anti abortion. 🤦🏻♀️ I don’t understand how someone can be so lazer focused on only one thing, that they can ignore all the other vile things about that man. So he can rape women but your okay with that as long as they carry the pregnancy to term. Wtaf! In my opinion, many use abortion as an excuse to vote for the one whose views on race, gender, and LGBTQ issues they also happen to agree with - even if they don't say so in polite company. I think you both nailed it and I FINALLY get why my sister and some (former) friends are cheeto supporters !!!!! It sounds so good / so CARING when they say it's about abortion. I have wanted to ask my sister and friends soooo many times if they are so pro-LIFE, what are they doing to help all the children in the immigration centers? Nope---they are pro BIRTH! And who cares about brown and black children that are already born !!!!!!!!!!!! And how about the recent story where they can't locate their PARENTS? My sister and her cult flew to DC last year to pray about abortion. Why can't they also fly to Texas, Arizona, etc. and pray for (and HELP!) all those innocent children there? But nooo....let's all fly to DC and pray for Kavanaugh (yup, they did that a couple years ago, too!) Say that trump is "chosen by God !!!", etc. etc. and to make it much worse----stay in trump's hotel. They're all in DC tonight, too. I hope their prayer meetings and events to support cheeto end up with Biden winning !!!!!!!!

Another thought—have any states counted their absentee ballots yet? Yes. But PA just reported that they are not counting anymore mail/absentee tonight, meaning they still have 3/4 of their mail in votes to count starting tomorrow, and they could tip the state one way or another.

My hopes for NC are dimming. Our senate seat looks like it is going back to Tillis, too, because Cunningham had to sext with another man's wife. And not just any wife, a military wife - Cunningham is in the reserves. What is wrong with these men??? Cunningham had a big lead for months. Ugh!
Looks like a much longer night so I'm going to go to bed and hope I wake up to some good news.
Just heard that Arizona might be a bright spot so I'll leave on a positive note.

This is horrifying, but it's only 7:30pm on the west coast - polls haven't even closed yet in AK and HI, it's too early to freak out, it really is. We knew this was going to be super bumpy when results started coming in. Good link at Politico - www.politico.com/2020-election/results/Shows Biden statistically has 14,763 ways to win, and Trump has 1,535 ways to win as of right now (this number will change by the time you look at this link, it changes constantly) - how the counties and electoral votes could still shake out. So we don't need to pour triples just yet. There's still time to scream into the void. I'm telling this to myself. Taking a breath. Maybe going to bed before my migraine starts really going for broke.

In 2016, I kept telling myself that the checks and balance system would work, and he wouldn’t be able to do too much damage.
I had too much faith. I now know there is no such thing. I want to cry.

I know it's far from over, but I cannot get my head around after everything that's happened in the last 4 years - how any person could vote for that man. I will never understand it.

In this scenario, winning PA gets Biden to 279. Winning AZ gets him to 270. Exactly. I know everyone, me included, definitely wanted something decisive tonight, or the landslide. That isn't happening. But the path to victory didn't require the states that we HOPED Biden would win, but is looking like he won't. There has been a lot of shift in metro areas, like Ohio and even in states like Florida (not Miami) that show that the shift that Biden needs in Wisconsin and Michigan is still very likely. Arizona is looking good. The biggest problem is Pennsylvania. We know that there will be a shenanigans, and we really didn't want it to come down to shenanigans. So this is not over by any means. But the states Biden needs aren't getting decided today, and probably not tomorrow. So everyone needs a lot antacids, chocolate and if it's your thing booze.

For the first time ever, I am going to go to bed and (try) not to watch anymore. Its just too much. The NC race alone is just so close that I cannot imagine it not ending in a legal fight.

Even if Biden wins, the fact that so many still support the orange atrocity is depressing. Decency shouldn't be so rare. As the last line of this tweet states...
