So...when they are dragging him out (and we're all watching the pay-per-view as part of our patriotic duty to lower the national debt), I want to know who gets to say "Your fired!"? If they had a raffle for the chance to do it, I bet we could fund schools all across the nation to educate our children AND feed them! He is a completely narcissistic and foolish man and an embarrassment to all of us.

Good morning, I've just been catching up with all that I missed overnight. Nothing much has changed I see, but patience is a virtue so they say. but I wished things would hurry up!
Just caught up with Biden's speech. What a contrast to what we've been listening to over the last 3.75 years. He looks in far better shape, both in mind and body. following his busy schedule over the last couple of weeks, than Trump does. Now we know why the WH was so empty of staff yesterday too. Hope they cleared their desks before they all stayed home sick!

I'll bet he is really tired. He (Biden)probably needs to sleep for two days. Yes!! I told dh that you could tell how tired he was because he had a couple of small instances of stuttering. I'm sure he's freaking exhausted. Hell, I'm only 43 and I've been been getting 6 hours of sleep a night and I'm exhausted from just watching all the coverage. LOLOL

Can someone let me know how both Georgia senators are up for election/re-election in the same election cycle? I don’t know of any states in which that occurs besides Georgia. So, I am assuming that someone died in office or some other incident that caused a tenure to be cut short. And then, how is it decided which Republicans go up against which Democrats? Not to mention where all the other candidates fall out. Since there are no districts, like there are for Representatives, how is it divided up when they are all running during the same cycle? One is a special election. Loeffler/Warnock race is a special election. Leoffler was appointed to the seat this year after Isakson resigned for health issues.

One is a special election. Loeffler/Warnock race is a special election. Leoffler was appointed to the seat this year after Isakson resigned for health issues. It’s even an easier explanation than that, which candidate runs against which other candidate(s) - no matter what party/parties they are from is decided by which seat/position they applied to run for. Yes the special election adds some nuances and extra people to the race and explains why there's both races at once. But ultimately whom is running against whom boils down to which opening/seat/post they applied ( and satisfied all the requirements to be on the ballot ) with the board of elections to run for. Leofler/warnock applied to run for the same seat/term therefore they are opponents for that seat/term.

I know I’m being pedantic, and I didn't see the video in question, but these people thought they could discern that the piece of paper was a ballot - AND THAT IT WAS A TRUMP BALLOT? They could see that “X”? Or maybe they couldn’t see the X. Maybe they are such patriots - just so very passionate about ALL eligible votes being counted - that they decided to incite like-minded egalitarian vigilante patriots to go after a poll worker who they believe tossed a ballot for either candidate. Maybe.

PA really needs to be called. There’s no way you can overcome a close to 29,000 margin with the votes left to count. The remaining ballots are mail-in which disproportionately favor D. I’m a veteran of many election nights/days, and we used to call at less than the 96% count. I'm not understanding the timidity.

I completely agree, but I think the people in charge are being extra cautious due to the litigious nature of Mango Mussolini (a new name I read on twitter yesterday) and the volatility of his followers. Not that calling it or not calling it will change the outcome, but I think they are being extremely cautious so as to not give them any sense of impropriety, cheating, or favoritism.

“Hollimon told CNN that LaMotta this week told his supervisor he needed to take leave for the "assignment" in Philadelphia that was not assigned through the company. Hollimon said he did not know why LaMotta was in Philadelphia and emphasized that he believes he is "a good guy." "He's a very devoted guy. I've never had an issue with him," Hollimon told CNN. "He's not a threat." And get this a woman was found traveling with the men but wasn’t arrested. edition.cnn.com/2020/11/07/us/pennsylvania-convention-center-arrests/index.html

In Arizona, though he was elected on Election Day, Mark Kelly’s election was actually a special election to replace John McCain. He will actually be finishing that term, not starting a brand new one. So, to that end, but Arizona law, he’ll actually take office this month and not in January. I wonder if the same is true for the Georgia seat that is specially elected. The runoff isn't scheduled until January 5th, so they won't be seated until after that race is decided. The new Senate begins January 3rd, so the winner will be part of the new Senate, not this one. Can someone explain in simple terms what the runoff means? Thanks!

Apparently, there are over 100,000 provisional ballots to check and they don’t know how many are Republican. And don’t forget that Trump told his people to do mail in and in person. It will take awhile to check all those provisional ballots.

Interesting NPR article about Fox News and election reporting
I know (because I’ve read it here from viewers) that there are people who only source their news from Fox because it’s the only one they trust. Interesting that there’s yet another reporting gap between the anchors and the “personalities,” over election results, but so depressing that they’re already thigh-deep in their efforts to permanently delegitimatize a Biden presidency for so many viewers.

I don’t necessarily disagree with you and PLurker , but the Trump Camp already has two PA lawsuits. Meritless as they are, waiting for a higher percentage count will not negate the existence of those. T will push forward no matter what. His supporters will continue to protest no matter what. Networks need to call PA. Not meaning to disrespect the state or its very hardworking ballot counters, but even though we’re at 0.5% (the recount trigger) this will only increase consistently since B is averaging over 60% of votes that were just counted. Sigh. I’m just going to have another cup of coffee and try to find where I left my back-up of patience. Lol.

Can someone explain in simple terms what the runoff means? Thanks! Short answer is no one got 50% of the votes in either race. Either due to a third party candidate getting some or undecided (I’m not sure if there is a check box for undecided or it’s just left blank) So they now take the top 2 candidates in each race and they are voted on again in January.

Trump heading to his golf course, is that the modern equivalent of Nero fiddling while Rome burned? At this point, maybe he should just golf until Inauguration Day. He can stay off television. He does nothing anyway. Which is not right or fair, but his whole presidency has not been right or fair. Let him retreat into his golf world. Though I am sure there is more in store. It wouldn’t be 2020 if there wasn’t.

Welp. I've officially reached election burnout. I turned on the TV this morning and immediately went right to The Food Network.
I feel like they should be able to call it. Trump's gonna cry no matter what.

This must be an exciting time for you to see how it all unfolds. Each state is difference on how and when you vote. But I’ve always found the registrar of voters to be very helpful I have 2 new voters in my house and the people at my town hall were very helpful in helping them navigate.
