Hey gramma , scrapperal , boymom5 , jjpeapea , teacherlisa , kellyr21 , natscraps , KikiPea and azcrafty welcome to the November chat thread! How's everyone doing? I'm very distracted with the election even though I'm trying hard to focus on other things. Heading into the crazy holiday season here in the US and the frantic dash to the end of the year. I have to say, November and December are my least favorite months. I don't enjoy the holiday madness and look forward to it all being over. Anyone else feel that way, or am on that bench alone? lol Honestly, I hope I'm the only one that feels that way lol. I'm not yet certain how I'm going to do the holidays this year. Do you have your plans laid? Is it going to be quite different from last year? I need my mojo back and I'm hoping the Count Your Blessings crop can help with that. I hope you will join in this weekend when you can! I think everyone is a team veteran this go round, but if you have any questions let me know!

After a very busy CARDtober month...I completed all 31 challenges and ended up with 80+ Christmas cards I still need 30 cards for my Christmas card exchange and have to make our Christmas cards of 60+. So I will try to make as many as I can this weekend so I can double the points. I'm planning to finish all the cards and get them ready for sending them out by the middle of the month.
I just purchased a Shimelle class ,JYC and looking forward to create my very first DD. I already have an album and trying to shop my stash and put a DD kit together.
And after all this done I will clean up my craft room. Hopefully....it never happens, but there is always hope! 😊😉

Wow azcrafty you have been busy! I'm doing JYC too and trying to work out some preplanned pages. This will be my first time trying to pre-plan like that and it's not going well. It's out of the scope of normal for me lol. I may end up working on it as the month goes along in December. All the prompts are up from the Count your Blessings Crop. There are some really good ones there I want to use as well.

November is the start of "silly season" for me. I work in accounting so all the year end requirements start to pile up. Then I decided that making dozens of cards is a good idea!! Then home made Christmas gifts - I mean why not? Right?
COVID feels like this black cloud of doom hanging over all of us. My kids and grandkids live close but I've only seen them a time or two since February. This is not what I expected my "golden years" to be - isolated from family and friends. I'm a hugger darn it!!! This is no good.
Then the big elephant in everyone's room - the election. No matter what side you are on - this is craziness!! The damage that has been done to family and friend relationships is heartbreaking to me. I don't know that we will ever get back to treating each other in a civil manner. I posted this quote on my FB page - In 1958, John F. Kennedy said, “Let us not despair but act. Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past – let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” It drew snarky comments from both sides.
All this sounds like I'm living in a self made world of doom and gloom. But - I'm not. I'm healthy. I choose to be happy, active and productive. I have a job that although it is in accounting fills my soul every day. I've formed new virtual relationships through Google Hangouts with some wonderful ladies.
I'm one pretty lucky old lady!!

It's hard not to get caught up in the crazy and gloom and doom right now. It's also been nice the past few days to see the news calming down already and becoming maybe - boring? I love that!
I'm still debating a Thanksgiving dinner - my youngest is really looking forward to it, but man I just don't know.
You went crazy making cards but they are so beautiful! I'm sure the soldiers love having those to send to their families!
How is everyone else doing? I have lots of running around to do today and then hope to start on something crafty. My mojo has flown the coop and I miss it!

Hi all! I haven’t had a chance to pop in yet this month. Things have been so busy for me witg the kids that there hasn’t been much time. And I’m not sure how much I’ll actually be able to get done this month. We had a repair in my craft room and there is currently a large hole in the wall awaiting dry wall repair. Because of that and very little time I’ve done nothing!

Well we are a quiet bunch this month lol. I am still not feeling crafty at all. My Christmas cards are going to be store bought if I don't get myself in gear. I did do a little organizing and cleaning last night which seemed to help. I think I get this way every year at this time, thinking about all that needs done for the holidays and it zaps my craftiness. Hopefully I'll get down to the business of making cards this weekend and that will help. I have cancelled Thanksgiving and we will only do a Christmas dinner and holiday together. It's too crazy here right now even though things will probably be worse in December. Wow I'm such a downer! Maybe I should check out the sharing thread and find some inspiration and joy! lol. boymom5 I don't know how you find time! I had drywall repaired this week too. Yuck. I hope it gets repaired soon! I hope everyone is doing well!

I am almost able to stick my head up from making cards. Shipped off a box to Cards for Soldiers - finished the 2Peas card exchange - finished the Pokey's card exchange. Just a few to go for family. Most went into today's mail but I need a trip to the Post Office for more stamps. Not looking forward to that!!
Then yesterday I finished all but one of the gifts for my staff at work. Now I have aprons to HTV with cooking type sayings. Those will go with kitchen towels, pot holders and cookie mix.
I need a couple more gift cards for teenager gifts and I am done with the "making/buying" part. Just have to wrap all that stuff.
What are you all up to???

Wow! I'm not up to as much as you! I haven't really even started my cards, let alone mailed them! Even though I know they need to get out earlier this year. Your gifts sound wonderful! I've done a little shopping, still some to do, but it's clothes and I hate buying clothes online. But I'm really not looking to be in the stores this year either lol.
I have most of the paper cut I just have to build the cards. It's too late tonight so I will make time for that tomorrow evening. I have done no crafting whatsoever to speak of. I usually run out of mojo about this time every year and just take a break from it all.
What's everyone else been up to? What Thanksgiving plans do you all have?

We are going to our daughter's house. Just her and her husband and one of our sons and his s/o. So just 6 of us when there are usually at least 12. Christmas will likely be the same and that is usually around 25. I hate what this virus is doing to our country. My plan is to do the Facebook live chat thing with the little guys' families for gift opening. At least we'll get to see a little of their day. But the great news is that there seems to be vaccines on the way.
Off to bed, I'm pooped

Happy Thanksgiving!! I hope your day is wonderful! gramma I'm so happy a vaccine is on the way as well. Hopefully next year holidays will be as big as we want them to be! My dinner will be tomorrow with my little 2 person bubble. Today I've been super productive - not craft wise yet, but that's coming later today lol. I'm ready now to relax and enjoy this long weekend. It's my favorite weekend of the year since we are off work all 4 days. lol.

Hey there team. Sorry I've been MIA most of the month. I'll be asking for points in the next few days. I personally have zero, so no one should feel bad if they haven't been too creative this month!

I thought I had zero points too until I double checked the challenges! There’s a challenge for 10 points for every day you didn’t spend except for adhesive and a challenge for Christmas prep. Coming down with that pesky Covid kept me from doing much of anything this month. I have a four page spread I started early on but then got sick and haven’t finished it yet. But between the two above challenges I have 400 points for the month

I am figuring mine out and will post later. How many points do we get for shopping/not shopping?

I didn’t get much done at all as my craft room was so disorganized with drywall needing repair and things displaced from that. With days money not spent I get 400 points.
