Hello grammadee , ComplicatedLady , sleepingbooty , lynnek , angel97701 , scrappyrabbit , jediannie , AussieMeg , schroemaConfession time: 2 years ago I don't think I knew how to tag someone in these threads Welcome to November! It's off to a creaky start for me - I have lost my mojo But I'm really hoping this weekend crop will help me rev back up! My biggest problem is that I haven't printed photos in so long (confession time: 2 years.) that I don't have fresh material to work with. The stories/pages I have to work on are still important and things I meant to get into my books. But I'd love some fresher easier photos! How is your month stacking up? Care to share a small confession with the group as an ice breaker? Will you be coming to play in the crop this weekend? I hope so!

Hello!! My confession is that my room is such a mess, I can barely walk in it. So, I am trying to tackle that a bit so far this month. I am redoing my stamps and dies at the moment. I think I am going to store away my huge number of old BH PL card kits. I don’t really use them any more, but they are taking up valuable shelf space. Then I can have a free area for the new die and stamp storage. However, I am excited for the weekend crop, so my plan today is to get to a point where I have a space to scrap this weekend. kitbop - a while back Amazon has the PictureMate printer on a great sale and I got that. It has changed my scrapping life as far as printing pictures! So easy and my phone connects. I really love it.

Good morning, DIVA's! Confessions: #1 lynnek , my mess can probably bury your mess: my scraproom is a disaster!!! Stuff all over, on both counters and on the floor. My house isn't much better. Took me two days to prepare for the cleaning lady to come in and it still has alot of work for her to do...
#2. I have not started Christmas shopping. I usually have it mostly done by now, with just a few things to pick up at local craft fairs. Nothing purchased and no craft fairs . Guess I need a little panic in my life! This weekend, I hope to finish off my Christmas card making. Our nephew's wife is coming over to make cards on Saturday. So I will play with some of my gnome dies and pads of 6x6 papers, and just get the rest done. It will feel good to finisn SOMETHING, and give me an opportunity to regain some space for other activities in here. Looking forward to schmoozing with the peas while I get that one task finished...

Confessions: My craft area was clean and organized but now it's a disaster again. I need to make space for creating because I really miss it. I've only made a couple of cards over the past few months and need to stop watching TV and start creating again because my mental health needs more creating and less TV watching!
I probably won't be at the crop this weekend, but if something changes I will try! It's hard for me to do any sort of organized crafting time because my 5 year old has been needing a lot of attention lately since we're doing distance learning and she hasn't seen any friends or other kids for months. This is the only time I wish we would have tried to have more kids, but that ship has sailed so we are doing our best.
My monthly goals: 1. I've started doing a gratitude journal on my phone and I'm hoping to transfer the photos and words to a physical scrapbook for a Grateful 30 scrapbook. So far so good, I've kept up for 4 days! 2. Clean my craft space and desk off so I can actually create when my daughter goes to bed. 3. I'm in a holiday tag swap with some local ladies and I have to make 25 tags. I need to design and make them by December 2.

Confession time: I've also not printed photos since February, and before that it was Oct of 2019. I've only done a few cards and finished a layout or two since March. Most of you already know the story. But in the meantime my garden produced, I got the home re-financed, and I've dealt with the emotional aspects of parenting my sons. Still want to set up a few more things in the greenhouse, and maybe can some carrots. We will see!
My DH will be traveling all next week for business (he's driving the motor home this time) so will be gone for 7-9 days leading up to my birthday. Don't know if he will leave on Sunday or not. I have a few honey-do things for him like setting up a new compost bin area for all the leaves laying around. But I should have good intentions to check in for the crop. It will be a good reason to say "I need some time to craft."
Of course much depends on how my wrists hold up with the new Carpel Tunnel symptoms. I've been using splints at night, and have two styles of wrist wraps for the daytime. One set that is silicon, so great to use while being messy in the kitchen!
Smiles!

Welcome November! I need to work on a doable plan to print photos every month so I stay on top of it. I’m trying to get all my chores done today so I can scrap all day tomorrow. 🤞🏻

Well it took me a while to get off the starting block this month, and I'd probably still be there if I hadn't been rostered to do the Sketchy Saturday this weekend. I must have missed the post about the crop. I was out doing the grocery shopping a couple of hours ago, and I had a missed call from Two Peas on my phone! That's what made me realise there might be a crop on. I'm not going to bother setting any goals, because it's just demoralising when I don't achieve them. If I were going to set goals, it would be to do some more layouts for my Vietnam album, and to make a start on my PL 2020. It is now November and I *still* haven't decided on a format. My confession? Hmmmm..... The only thing I can think of is that I still have hundreds of sheets of Bazzill cardstock in every colour under the sun, as well as gorgeous patterned paper, even though I haven't paper scrapped for about 9 years. I just can't bring myself to get rid of it.

I'm not going to bother setting any goals, because it's just demoralising when I don't achieve them I'm a procrastinator. If I set a goal it has the OPPOSITE effect on me, like "I don't want to work on that, I want to work on something else!" So I don't set goals But if there is a deadline - like Christmas cards, or someones birthday is coming up - that's OK. But a "goal"? Not good for me.

Hoping to move to some scrapbooking this week.

I too am using prompts - I seem to be more successful/targeted with them than with the general challenges. I got more done this weekend than I would have without the crop and maybe, just maybe, it's broken my mojo-less spell? We'll see how the week goes I guess! schroema - I think we ALL were distracted this week. I'm glad it's over! Altho I fear it's not fully over...

The prompts are super cool, and are now on my desk . . .
Last of the BIG garden tasks accomplished today, all hoses picked up and put away. DS14 helped for awhile, and I am glad that the garden is officially done outside. The greenhouse provided us our first salad last night for dinner. With less sunlight things grow slower. I am still waiting for the auto lifts to arrive, so the greenhouse doesn't overheat on sunny days.
I agree with last week's distraction, and am also afraid that the outcome is still yet to be determined. I've just got to step away, with all the other stuff I've dealt with emotionally in the last 9 months it is for the best.
Went to the hairdresser for the first time in 9 months today! I let my grey grow out, and also have a few more inches. Hairdresser said it is on trend now, and that the silver grey in my hair (mostly on the top) blends nicely with the color that we put in so many months ago. She was also super understanding about me not coming in for so long. She's actually had an increase in her clientele! Several shops closed in town and our little city is now considered the in the top 2 or 3 fastest growing in the US, so new clients for her due to that as well. My hair feels so nice now, split ends are gone, yeah. (The bane of naturally curly/wavy hair)
So, shall I actually scrap tonight? Yes, Yes I will, wish me luck! DH is traveling and DS14 is watching his Netflix series (thankfully age appropriate for him . . . FAS spectrum, he likes the kids shows that appeal to 8-10 year olds). I'm good with that. Oh that will be after dinner and our nightly game of Yahtzee.

Totally appropriate Oh, and "Avatar the last Airbender" is on Netflix too... Good luck scrapping! kitbop We've been through Avatar Last Airbender twice now . . . once when the older kids were younger and just recently since DS14 returned from Wilderness Therapy. Most recently we went through "Legends of Monkey King", and Camp Kikikwaka is a regular along with Richie Rich. They get a bit tiring for me, but if he's entertained and I'm in the next room it's all good. He also likes Flight Test, Peter Shreple, and Hacksmith. We don't do video games, we prefer he be engaged differently. When I lived in Japan as an exchange student I watched a series of "soap opera" style dramas . . . and it helped me learn the language, so I see value in him watching age appropriate stuff.
AND YES, I scrapped a cover page this evening. Well actually I hunted down my ancient strap-hinge albums because I decided I could put all of my Las Vegas/Class Reunion trip in one strap-hinge album. You know use what you have mentality! And when I say ancient I mean I bought them at least 25 years ago. Fortunately I planned ahead and also purchased the page protectors. Now I am trimming the Las Vegas pages down to 11 and 9/16" to fit the strap hinge format. I even had a pack of top loader strap hinge pages, so the page I did that has a flip up works in perfectly! Now to scrap those 4 double page layouts of the incredible Hoover Dam, where we took the whole Dam tour.
We've also had 2 games of Yahtzee, the first he won, the second I won BUT two Yahtzees will do that for ya even when you don't get your bonus on top and take a zero for threes!

Glad to hear you are scrapping again, @ angel97701! I made a switch from cards to pages today and finished one of the two I need to have done so I can take my family calendar to the printer. Confession? I did NOT clean all the Christmas crafty crap off my scrapcounters to do this--just worked around and over top of it! Helped that I didn't need alot of themed paper: just a template cut with Silhouette and a torn piece on top. What took the most time was printing out the photos I had chosen, cutting them to size and fitting them into the template.

Well, now that I am over the initial shock . . . I've been exposed to Covid19 and am being tracked by the state. I went into pay for DS14's Sylvan tutoring on Tuesday morning. Had a 10 minute or so conversation with the director, we were both wearing masks. Later that night when notified me that she was told she had been exposed, and she went to be tested . . . and was positive. County called me on Thursday, and asked me to quarantine, so I shall until 11/24. On top of that our state is closing down again started 11/18. So no dinner out for my birthday (which is tomorrow), and the grandparents shouldn't even come over for DS's 15th birthday on 11/19. At least my quarantine will be over 2 days before Christmas. No errands for me. DH arrived home this morning from his trip to So Cal. The first day of flight testing was really iffy, but the second day went great. So he is very pleased with the process of the project. He drove our little motor home down and back, good thing! They were in the middle of no where, only 1 of the 5 guys had cell service out there. So I got to tell him about quarantine via a co-worker's phone. We are quarantining ourselves from the grandparents because they are high risk. That will be hardest on my DS. The social isolation is really tough on him.
So one birthday card made and 4 double page layouts sorta planned. Now to execute said layouts!
FYI, I'm feeling fine, no fever. Just my usual minor sore throat from seasonal allergies, slight cough in the morning from the same. Muscle aches only because I'm almost 61 and have over-worked a few. Working on physical therapy type exercises for both the carpel tunnel and the bunion pain.
It is all part of the 2020 experience.

hugs angel97701 - I'm sure you are going to test negative since you were wearing a mask, but it's still awful that you are going to have to self isolate. I'm surprised it's that long. I thought it was 2 weeks, not 6 Happy birthday tomorrow!!! I just read that people who report having eaten out have a 50% higher chance of getting covid. So maybe it's a good thing you are forced not to go We ate out for my Dad's birthday 2 weeks ago and thought nothing of it. But there are 2 restaurants here who are now the source of a covid spread, so I think we'll do take out for the next couple of months!

kitbop, it's only 2 weeks, ends on 11/24. We did take-out from my favorite Thai place, seems to make the most sense plus it's a local business we don't want to see closed. Quiet day, and part of the afternoon spent trying to learn how to use my new Mold Press. Not very successful, so back to YouTube to learn a little more. Got two (TWO-2)double page layouts done last night, going for another tonight. But with rain etc no photos yet. Felt so good to dig through supplies and get creative ideas!

Popping in to say "hi"! to the Divas. I have scrapped nothing since last week. I started toying with Christmas card ideas, but ran into neck/shoulder issues that "couched" me. I love watching the new Christmas releases and videos and SO want some of the dies and stamps, but i know they won't get to me in enough time to really do much with them, so what's the point? In past years, when I've purchased late in the season, I don't feel the same inspiration the following year. I try to limit myself to what my LSS gets in, but there are limited choices and Canadian prices Actually, it's not much cheaper buying online - between exchange and shipping, it's close to the same. But I do save a bit, which encourages me to press the "complete order" button!

Hoping that shoulder starts giving you some relief, kitbop. I know what you mean about the new stuff. I have excitedly filled more than one cart, only to come to a screeching halt when the cost of shipping is added on to the total. And I have had to pay customs on top of some packages on pick up from the post office. But Pinterest is filled with ideas for how to use the new stuff. I have such FOMO! The excitement for the new stuff is not nearly as great the next year, but I find that even the long wait for stuff to arrive in the mail can do that too. Nothing like picking up something at the LSS, driving home with it, and using it right away! Thank heavens we still have an LSS! Tried to call a halt to card making, but still buried under an avalanche of scraps which are crying out to be put onto something. Cleaned my scrap counters off yesterday--before you cheer, understand that most of the stuff ended up on a pile on the floor--but never got around to pulling out the photos. And I have some fun Halloween pic's the kids sent me. Seemed like a lot of energy required to pull out the fall and Halloween supplies. I have moved on to holiday baking, so haven't done much with either pages or cards.

Hi All! Came to check in. I have not done much scrapping lately. Actually I was scrapping with friends last weekend and got a couple of pages done finally. But when I got home we got the news that my husband's best friend passed away unexpectedly. He was only 46. So, we have spent some time just sad and kind of in a daze. But I am hoping to get back to scrapping. I have hopes of sending Thanksgiving cards to family that we won't be with this year. Also, I keep mulling over doing a December Daily so I need to get that thought through. And finally, I keep thinking it would be a great idea to start a pandemic alums of some sort.

So sorry for the loss of your friend, lynnek . Thanks! It has been a difficult loss. On the plus side, I spent some time cleaning and organizing in my scrapbook room this weekend. I think I am going to jump in and do December Daily. So, I cleaned a spot and am going to try to work on a few foundation pages in the next few days.

I actually put together some pages this past weekend. Need to put them into albums, along with a few other pages that have so far escaped that process. Need to score the pages. The cards are all getting counted Easy Peasy. I put the rest of my exchange cards into the post office, have edited my Christmas letter for friends and family, and am in the process of printing it. Will be signing cards, addressing envelopes, and folding and stuffing in letters over the next couple of days. Hope to get to the post office on Thursday. Have not kept track of my Christmas related activities (cookie baking, gift wrapping, card addressing...) for points, but think I will do a quick estimate, for sleepingbooty's challenge. I really don't know how you US peas handle Thanksgiving this close to Christmas. I have yet to pull out Christmas decorations or my tree, but that is next on my to do list.

{{ lynnek}} I'm sorry I missed your awful news last week. How are you feeling this week? Your DH must be hurting. My DD is asking to get the Christmas tree SOON - like this weekend. We always get a fresh tree, so I'm not convinced it's a good idea: we'll want it up until New Years, and that's almost 6 weeks. We'll have a pile of needles and bare branches by then! Does anyone have experience with real trees and how long they'll last inside??? She just wants to hurry festivities along to counteract Covid sadness. We're back into a "red zone" here, meaning not full lockdown, but lots of cut-backs. For example, our gym closed but then they decided to allow people to book 1 hour appointments - up to 10 in the facility (which is large) for $5. I won't be able to afford to go more than 2-3 times a week, but I also have had a firm talk with myself about giving up my weekly Starbucks treat which is the same price as a gym visit... (Wow, my first thought on reading this through is - first world problems. Christmas trees and gyms... Then I think of losing a 46 year old friend and get an even bigger reality check!)

Good morning, Diva's. Don't know what to say about your Christmas tree dilemma, kitbop: we have a fake tree that usually goes up December 1st and stays up until January 15th. Not looking forward to digging it out this year. Dd and dgs were planning to be here to help with the lifting/carrying and the fun of tree decorating. But new restrictions in Alberta are saying no to any unnecessary travel from one community to another after Friday this week. (She had already made a decision to stay home the long weekend in November b/c numbers in their community were on the rise and she didn't want to risk bringing the virus out here to the farm. It's maddening, b/c if everyone had followed the "guidelines" voluntarily like she did, then there would not have been a need for these "regulations" which have legal consequences for breaking them. I made a birthday card yesterday, and today I need to package up the gifts for my siblings/spouses for mailing, and get the rest of my friends/family cards into addressed envelopes so I can take them to the post office tomorrow. hoping to get some photos printed tomorrow too, but not sure if new rules will take effect a day early in On line orders are slowly trickling in, but I don't have any boxes ready to go yet for the kids' families. When I have a complete box ready to go I will ship it out. Hoping you are all well and safe. I am so thankful for all my scrappy friends!

I haven't checked in for a while, so I missed your sad news lynnek. I'm sorry to hear about your husband's friend. What a shock! 46 is just way too young. I don't know what where this month has gone. I have only done 4 pages so far, and they've all been sketches. If it weren't for the sketh challenges I would probably have done none! This is my worst (as in least productive) month ever.
