Last night I was watching CNN and Jake tapper mentioned the thankless job of the poll workers, and I thought to myself "No way I thank those poll workers profusely". To be honest though, this is the first year I have really truly appreciated them. I am sorry for that. They worked diligently and tirelessly. Every single one, in every single state. They deserve a parade of their own! Thank you poll workers!

Our County had a really hard time finding poll workers this year. The assumption was that a lot of the older people that would work every year did not want to due to Covid concerns. The County even increased the pay offered and still didn't get as many bites as they would have liked. It's a long and often unappreciated job. I'm thankful to those that took it on and I hope to join in one year.
Even in non-presidential election years I see the staff of the Clerk's office get absolutely inundated. It's hard work and long hours and I don't think the general public has any idea what goes on behind the scenes of the elections.
