Haha, not just boys/men! I have three daughters and myself, and we are always losing our stuff! Especially me. I can't tell you how many times I have lost my phone and spent hours driving to every store and searching to find it in my purse all along! And if my husband needs me to get something from the garage (a tool) he knows he will end up looking for it. So we are all guilty of not finding things in our house!

At 89 I think he is entitled to a bit of not moving things to find what he might want/need. đ We do give him a LOT of empathy and assistance due to his age---BUT---when it comes to trying to find things, he has ALWAYS been this way. Much the same as my much younger DH who can be staring RIGHT AT something and still ask me where it is! It happened just the other day--- It was a HUGE container of home made soup that I put a big NOTE on, because I already knew one or both of them wouldn't be able to find it. DH was just standing there with the fridge wide open, not seeing it. .....Did I mention I even put a big NOTE on the container? And just to clarify---in this case, I'm talking about dear hubby, NOT my Dad. I tease DH about this all the time. I was gonna say it's in the male DNA, but some of the other replies tell me that girls can be that way, too.

Ooooh, I wish that worked for me! My son may not be able to find his school shoes that are hiding in plain sight, but his tracking beacon works exceptionally well when it comes to chocolate, biscuits and lollies! THAT is exactly true of my Dad !!!! He can't find the bag of croutons that I attached a big NOTE on because I knew he'd never be able to find them, (even though they are RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS EYES). Yet, I hide something yummy that I reallllly don't want him to find, and he does. I seriously marvel at how he will dig in the freezer, move around A LOT of things, and find my hidden item. Yet, he "can't find" something directly in his line of vision.

My saying about the "boy look" is "look with your hands as well as your eyes". Drives me mad having to find everything.

When I read the thread title I thought you were talking about clothes! In our house, this happens often Dh, standing in front of open fridge or cupboard "I can't find x" Me, sitting in armchair, no intention of moving, "have you moved anything? it's not going to jump up and wave at you" Do we share a husband? Just eyes; no hands. Drives me absolutely batty. Then he says Iâm being âdramaticâ when I get up and start taking stuff out to get a proper look.

Sometimes, when my son comes to me and says he can't find XYZ, I say to him "If I go into your room and find it, I am going to give you the biggest kick up the bum." He'll then go back to his room and miraculously find whatever it is he's "lost". I laughed out loud when I read this. I sometimes tell my son I will kick him right in the bunghole.

We call it âman eyesâ around here. Like if you canât find something it is because you are looking with your man eyes., Before I will go find something I need some verification that it is actually lost and it wasnât just looked for with man eyes. The crazy thing is that I am the person who sets things down in the most random places but my eyes work and I can find things very easily, my husband will look where something is supposed to be and where it actually is and still not see it.

Argh, I always tell my husband he couldn't find his butt with both hands.
Where is the milk? Middle shelf, on the right side, 6 inches to the left of the orange juice. Him "no it's not"!!.

It kinda works both ways in this house. Most situations it's me finding the item they can't as described is most of these posts.
However, if someone puts something back in the fridge in a place different then where it last was, well, I can't find it. LOL. My husband learned eventually to put things back where he found them.

We have the same issue at our house. Our motto is if mom canât find it itâs definitely lost. This is true at our house too, except when it comes to my phone! I lose that thing every 5 minutes and have to have a family member call it, to find it!đŹ Luckily, my keys stay clipped to my purse handle, since my car has a remote open and start.đ
