So, after having let my Epic Six (like the revolution?) languish for a couple of years, I decided to actually make use of some of the 4 x 4 dies I bought many moons ago.
Alas! I can't get a good cut on any of them. I can't shim with anything thicker than a piece of paper or the 'sandwich' won't go thru....and then sections of the die aren't cut at all.
I'm thinking of just tossing it in the trash.......seriously.......and getting something else........or just saying screw it for manual die cutting.
Is the We R Memory Keepers Revolution better? Will it take all the sized of Quickutz dies?
Is there a way to improve the cutting?
HELP!
thanks, peas! kate

I have an Epic Six and have never had any issues with it but while I do have a few 4x4 dies, I mostly use either 2x2 or cookie cutter dies from QK or random dies.
Are you positive you're using the cutting plate not the embossing?
I will say that once I use up my small stash of cutting mats, I'll probably be replacing my Epix 6 as I haven't been able to find any more replacements. At that point I'll probably look at the Big Shot or the Vagabond.

My Epic 6 was an epic failure. I’m one of the ones who got the rigid mat that curled into a big C on the first use, waited months to get the self healing replacement mats just to have them warp and be another failure. I had 3 and had to bake them in the oven after every crafting session just to get them flat again.
I suspect that your issue is that the bars that the plates roll through are easily warped. I’m guessing the center of the plates is what isn’t cutting? You can try shimming just the center of the dies and seeing if they will cut. I ended up using my E6 with steel rule dies only and broke it running felt through it. The same felt that I was running 6 layers through on my Big Shot. I threw it in the trash bin with great glee.
That machine still makes me angry when I think about it. Really, really angry.
