My understanding is that Hersheys uses soured milk which may also explain the extra sweetness. LOL They have to cover up that flavor! Despite being American, I grew up with Belgian Chocolate so pretty much anything is better than Hersheys!

We have two different kinds of honeycomb bars - Violet Crumble (that I sent you) and Crunchie. I prefer Violet Crumble, although I did buy a couple of Crunchie bars last night to use on the top of a cake I'm going to make. The honeycomb in a Crunchie is a darker colour than the Violet Crumble, and it's a bit...... holier? less dense? more spongey? than the Violet Crumble. They're both delicious. I've had Crunchie bars before (so good!), and I just ate the Violet Crumble (loved it!) you sent. I think I'm going to have to go to the store that I know sells import candy and get 1 of each so I can do a true comparison. I have all the stuff in the shopping bag so that it's not out and tempting anyone else. I will dole things out to them IF I feel generous (or don't like something )

Well in that case I'm glad I left the bananas out haha! We have two different kinds of honeycomb bars - Violet Crumble (that I sent you) and Crunchie. You’ve made my mouth water. Violet crumbles are my favourite 😍

AussieMeg The blind taste test was tasted by all the other chocolatiers from all of the countries represented at the conference. So even the UK team had decided in the blind taste test said that the Canadian recipe was the best THAT YEAR. This is a way of ensuring that the quality is the same in all of the countries. Sorry if I didn't explain it properly. Next year might be different, just saying' What a great RAK AussieMeg , very generous joelise - you love violet crumbles? Weirdo
