I had a lot of scraps before. They seem to have multiplied like rabbits with this CARDtober. That’s the downside to making a card every day based on a challenge.
Do you make up additional card kits with the scraps? Die cut them into usable pieces, and if so, how do you sort and store them? Or do you just toss them in the trash?
I can’t be the only one with tons of scraps left.

I try to use scraps as I go. If I don't use it right away, then I have a little scrap tupperware for small scraps and pull from there to punch out little shapes or to use for layering.

I love all my Christmas pretties, and hate to throw any of them away. If I am making a card for a particular challenge, I try to use the off cuts on additional cards, so I often have 4 or 5 cards with the same papers. But I still have scraps.
I sorted all my scraps at the end of my Christmas card making madness last year, and put them in ziplock bags by colour families (red/green/gold, blue/silver) and sorted out a bunch of PL cards, cutaparts, and diecuts and other embellishments into a divided tray. This year, I added some 4x6 cs panels, some of which I embossed with winter designs. And this year, I pulled out the tray and actually used alot of those elements.
I have yet to sort the scraps and extra pieces from this year's purchases and cardmaking. Will use some of them on Christmas pages, but don't envision alot of those pages this year. Hoping to add to that divided tray again. I liked working from it--everything was in my sight and within my reach.

I’ve sorted them by colors and seasons (patterned papers). The colored card stock is easy. I cut off the ragged ends and bag greens together, etc.
That is as far as I’ve gotten, though.

If I do die cut/punch things it's usually basic shapes like hearts (I have a little container full of random hearts) or something I've stamped with a sentiment. I keep die cuts and sentiments in divided page protectors in a binder so I can flip through them.
I have a drawer with black, white, and gold off cuts, and a little bundle of the offcuts from making 6 cards from one sheet of 12x12 - they're all 4x1" and I know I can use them to stamp a sentiment or turn into a simple scrap card (3 strips on a card front with a sentiment stamped in the gap, usually) I try to reach for those scraps when I'm matting something or adding a sentiment but they tend to multiple faster than I can use them.
Bigger scraps, 4" or so, I usually keep in the 6x6 pad/storage container/envelope where they came from, but I much prefer to use them up on a quick card unless they're a really good basic/neutral.
I very rarely make one-off cards though. I prefer to make multiples, or at least a bunch with the same themes and color schemes. And I hate to throw scraps away. I only do if they're really small and I'm totally sick of the paper.

Thank you for the replies. Your comments really got me thinking. What I decided to do is a little crazy, but.....
I’ve been taking the scraps and die-cutting them into a variety of pieces: card fronts, tags, tickets, circles, hearts, banners, and other shapes. The Queen & Co. Foundation die sets are coming in very handy for this (I have no afiliation with them at all, they are just a current favorite company). I agonized over buying their Foundation die sets, but they are my most used dies. I’ll pull and use a few other versatile dies for this project, too.
I started with the patterned papers. By cutting them into usable shapes, they will take a lot less room than the larger pieces I had been keeping in Iris bins, and hopefully make it easy to pull together a quick card as needed. I am grouping them by color/pattern for now. I just spend 5 minutes die-cutting here, 20 minutes there, as I find extra minutes of time. My big pile of scraps is gradually dwindling, and I am happier with my small piles of easier-to-use shapes. At some point I will probably do the same thing with the patterned paper scraps in the Iris bins.
When I get to the solid colors of card stock scraps, I will probably match the card stock first with the patterned paper scraps, and be a bit more purposeful in how I cut them, so that I can make cards or at least put together card kits. In the past, I just cut them into rectangles, and there was no consistency.
At any rate, I think I will be more likely to use my scraps now if they are usable shapes and/or in card kits.

Love what you have done with your scraps scrapnnana. I do the same thing with my colored cardstocks, die cut them or use a puncher and punch a bunch of shapes out what I know I use all the time. My problem is the patterned papers especially the small sizes.
