Thanksgiving is almost always my immediate family. Since we always had to travel for nearly every holiday or lived out of state we opt to stay home. Usually some of us work that day or after anyways so it’s easier to stay home. So no super spreader event at my house.
As far as the food the girls and I do not like turkey. So I made a turkey breast for dh & sil. Dd made scallops for the girls. I also made the traditional sides except green bean casserole. No one likes it. Dd #3 made apple pie, lemon cranberry bars, mashed potatoes & sweet potato casserole.
Our dinner was delayed because dd#3 & I were trying to get a cute thanksgiving pic of Poppy & forgot to put the turkey in. Dh decided we would eat outside by the firepit. So we dragged the table back there and all the dinnerware and ate by the fire. It was in the high 50s with no wind. We wore layers and it was nice.
The non traditional Italian food meal someone mentioned sounds delicious.
My favorite part of the meal is mashed potatoes & gravy with corn and stuffing dipped in it.
