I'm thinking seriously about asking for one for my BD this month. I don't print photos on my computer, nor do I use an online service for prints. Still mostly use an SD card and print at Walmart, though my new android smartphone takes OK pics. I watched a demo video that showed how to print 3x4 pics for pl pages, and you can print from your phone via wifi, and that's very appealing. I'm strictly a paper scrapper, no digital. Didn't find any info by using the search function. Any pros or cons? Thanks!

I have one. I don't use it to print the majority of my pictures. But, if I need a last minute picture or want some 3x4 or 3x3 pictures, it's great. My only disappointment is that I can't print from my laptop with my Selphy as my laptop is Windows 8 and my Selphy doesn't support Windows 8. I understand the most recent version of the Selphy does work with Windows 8 though.

I use my selphy mainly to print phone pics that I want to scrap right then.
**cmpeter----- if I have a photo on my laptop that I want to print, I just post it to FB, then go on FB on my phone and save the photo to my camera roll and print out the picture that way. Is that a weird way to go about things? I have the Canon app on my phone to print.

I use my Selphy mainly for PL photos, but I do print 2 or 3 photos at night when I get the urge to scrap. It really is convenient! Mine is an older vision (before wifi capabilities became available) so after I edit my photos, I copy them onto a USB drive, then connect the USB drive to my printer. I wish I could replace my Selphy with the wifi version, but it's still in great condition, lol.

I have a Selphy and I love it. I've yet to find a photolab that can beat the photos I print at home.

I like mine too. Just don't do what I did and go to an all day crop with your laptop, printer, paper... and NO extension cord or power strip! Seriously, duh. I did manage to print some of the pics I wanted to scrap but it was a pain sitting huddled on the floor next to the outlet, but there was no way I could do them all like that. I think they sell a battery pack for the Selphy and that might be something worth looking into if you're going to use it at crops away from home.

I had the CP900 and recently upgraded to the CP910 and It is all I use to print picture, I have had them for 2 years this Christmas and love it. The only time in that whole 2 years that I never used it was this week to order 6x8 for my WITL album.
Love how convenient it is, also it has saved me in the long run, I used to get a heap printed at once then not use most of them. Now i print only what I need for what I am working on.

I do email them to myself and save them to my camera roll, but it's a bit of a pain.

I have one and I love it. It keeps me from hoarding tons of prints as I can now just print them as I need them. Plus I love the quality of the photos.

Love it! Very handy. I love being able to take a pic with someone and give them a nice real copy right away. Also I use it for PL when I can get myself to doing it!

I have questions about the Selphy. I bought it for many reasons, but specifically to take to crops, because I never have the photo that I'm in the mood for. Plus, I'm getting into PL and want to print 3x4's with ease.
I'm not super impressed with the quality, but maybe my photo isn't the greatest quality to begin with (I shake terribly).
At the most recent weekend crop we went to a rustic ranch, that didn't have wi-fi--at all. The coordinator was mistaken about it, so I brought my Selphy.I was unable to use it due to lack of wi-fi. So my question is--is there something I wasn't doing right? Can it be used without wi-fi?
My other question--is it possible to print text or something if saved in a jpg onto regular paper (cut to fit)? Or does the ribbon only print on the Canon photo paper that is made specifically for the Selphy?

Or does the ribbon only print on the Canon photo paper that is made specifically for the Selphy? To determine if it's the photo or the printer, try printing the same photo with the Selphy and also somewhere else where you'd typically have prints made and compare them. If the photo is equally imperfect regardless of how it was printed, then it's the photo that's the problem. Maybe it would be worthwhile to invest in a camera with better anti-shake capabilities? You can print without Wi-Fi but you need to print from a memory card, connected to a computer, etc. You can print journaling, etc. saved as a .jpg but you MUST print on the Selphy paper. Trying to print on regular paper or cardstock will ruin the printer, so don't try it! Even accidentally printing on the Selphy paper with the wrong side up (or trying to print on a partial sheet) will ruin the printer. Hope this helps some!

Scraptrinkets hope you don't mind a little tip from a non-expert, if you have trouble staying steady with a camera. Get yourself a Gorillapod and use the self timer function on your camera...that way you can even get in the photos as well as it being the best chance at a sharp as a pin image.

I ordered my Selphy last Thursday when dh said he'd give me one for my BD. He didn't have to say it twice! I'm excited to be able to print my pics as I need them, hoping it lives up to the positive reviews I've been reading both here and at Amazon. Thanks again ladies.
