In another thread, some people mentioned that this is an item that they would not want to be without. I saw them on QVC and think they might be something my dds would like for Christmas. But I have a few questions. How do you clean the brush after use? Just rinse it off with water?? After one of the demonstrations where they removed make-up from a hand, they showed the make-up on the brush. How sanitary are they? Also, how long do the brushes last and have to be replaced? Please fill me in. I know nothing about the the Clarisonic Mia.

I love my Mia so much, if it dies I'll replace it in a heartbeat. ( I'm going on three years with mine ) I clean it with Dr. Bronner's and water and let it dry. I replace the brush every three months.

I've had my Clarasonic since last January. Honestly don't know why I waited so long to buy one. My skin has NEVER looked better. After using I rinse it with hot water and replace the head every 3 months.

I don't do anything to clean the brush except rinse it off, but almost every day I ask myself if I should be doing something differently. It does seem unsanitary to use it for three months without washing.

I replace the brush every 4 months or so and every couple of weeks I clean the brush with some antibacterial soap.

The dermatologist recommends it to the teens that they see (boys and girls). My 17 yr. old uses it and seems to like it. She doesn't do anything to wash it (big surprise!). I should probably wash it with soap when I wash her make up brushes.
They recommend replacing the brush every 3 months.

I own the Mia but ever since I switched from physical exfoliation to chemical exfoliation I feel no need to use my Clarisonic. I am going to sell it.

If I don't use mine my skin feels dirty. I have horrible skin, 45 and still prone to break-outs, but I can honestly say, even this yucky skin has improved since using it. As for cleaning the brush. Each night I wash it with hot water, rub off the excess water with a towel and leave to air dry. Hmmmm, now you have me thinking that I should be doing more.

I'm too cheap to replace the brushes as often as the above posters. I just rinse mine off...it hangs in my shower. If it slows down, I take the brush off and clean under it...that usually solves the problem. I have the larger one and it clips into a long handle. I like that because I eventually destroyed my first one as it kept falling on the floor of the shower. Where I get facials suggests to use it only a couple of times a week.

You are already using a cleanser with it when you wash your face, why would it need more soap? Just rinse it off. That said, mine has died after just 18 months of use and I didn't use it every day. It's a battery failure and it's soured me on the whole brand. I paid way way too much to have it die after so little time.

Thanks for the responses. I appreciate the extra information before I bite the bullet. Perubula - That would be so disappointing. Hoping I don't get a lemon too.

I just got the NuSonic version of this a couple of weeks ago. It was a late-night impulse purchase and I was skeptical it could be that good. Holy crap, I can't believe how much smoother my skin is. Seriously, I sound like a commercial for it to everyone I know. I would replace it tomorrow if it broke. LOVE that thing.

gotranch - to help you decide which model, check out the comparison chart at Clarisonic.com. It gives a good side-by-side break down of what each model does Wow! Thanks for that information.

I've been debating too. I thought my oldest daughter and I could try it out. If we like it I'll buy her one too. Do you have to use a specific cleanser?

I just rinse it off when I am done. I'm using soap on it, I wouldn't think to use more soap to clean it. I have not replaced the brush head yet but I only use it a few days per month. I can tell it needs to be changed, though.

Love my Clairsonic!
When you take the head off to clean or replace... Gross. I can't determine if it is skin or soap scum. About every couple of weeks I will steam clean my head in the microwave.
