I tried to do a Google search, but haven’t found anything recent. I realize that COVID may have put everything on hold, but I am wondering if the cases were dropped, delayed, or if Sizzix won or lost. Does anyone know?
Edited to add: I didn’t find anything because I was searching for Sizzix lawsuits, when I should have been searching under Ellison Educational, which is the parent company of Sizzix. Ellison Educational apparently used a patent loophole to claim the patent on thin, chemically etched dies, which were invented by Spellbinders. Spellbinders had lost their patent, and Sizzix/Ellison figured out a way to claim it. They then sued five smaller companies, who were among their competitors.
The lawsuit against Heartfelt Creations was dismissed without prejudice in March 2020, and the lawsuit against Stamps of Life (Stephanie Barnard) was also dismissed without prejudice in May 2020. I did not find anything recent about the other three companies being sued. I don’t remember who they were, although I think that Hero Arts may have been one of them.

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

Hopefully, they aren't proceeding any farther with the other three companies.
