I typically only order photo products from mixbook or shutterfly and found that the vast majority of their photo Christmas cards are the flat kind. I'd prefer to send a folded card because then I have space in the middle to write something and the recipient can display it standing up on their mantle. I was wondering why so few options for folded cards are available? Is no one buying them? Or is the retailer trying to get us out of it as it's more of a hassle for them to print? Or can you recommend another online store to find folded Christmas cards?

I send folded cards but mine aren't photo cards. But I have noticed that too many of them are postcard style. I think Vistaprint has the folded option. But I agree that ones that cannot stand their own are annoying (and really, what's the point?)

I send folded cards, but I make my own. I don't usually display the Christmas cards I receive so I don't care if they can stand up or not. I put them in a basket on our mail table and at the end of the season I bundle them up with string and put them in a box.

No, I do not send folded cards.
There was a thread on photo cards a few days ago and lots of peas said they like to send and receive photo cards. Lots of peas said they keep them in photo albums or scrapbooks. The flat cards work better for that.
I don't display cards I receive. I usually just throw away the ones that aren't photo cards. I'll keep the photos.

I send folded photo cards, and probably about half of the ones I receive are folded.

I updated it. Sorry about that. No worries. It happens. I figured that's what you were trying to show. I'm building something like that for my office but for favourite photos. I could display favourite cards too. I'm probably going to do what I call a card "laundry line" in the living room though.

I did when I handmade, but now I buy flat ones. I hook mine to a wreath hanging on the wall, so it doesn't matter if they are folded or flat.

I order all my cards from Minted. Most cards there have the option to be either flat or folded. The quality is wonderful!

I send folded photo cards but I make them myself by printing a 5x7 photo and sticking it on the front of a folded card. The folded photo cards you can order are CRAZY expensive and it takes longer to get them back from Costco because they aren't done in-house like the prints are. Most years I just don't have the time to wait that long to get them so I just do regular photo prints and do the rest myself.
Last year, DH had me do a bunch of ours through a service he sometimes uses for his business (Send Out Cards) because he had a big credit to burn up. It was a terrible mistake. Not only did the photos on the cards look bad but they took forever to get in the mail so many people didn't get them until just a couple days before Christmas even though the order had been submitted weeks earlier. Never again. I could have done them much faster myself and the photo quality would have been far superior, and they would have been a lot cheaper per card. I did a handful of the homemade ones for the Grammas and they were so much nicer than the ones Send Out did.

I like folded cards and photo cards, and a few people have sent me folded photo cards over the years, which is nice.
If I want to keep the photos, I simply cut the folded card with my trimmer before putting the photo portion(s) in the album.

I only send folded cards - in fact I don't think I've ever received a flat card to date!

I like to send folded cards with the front the picture (or pictures) and a hand written note on the inside. If someone wants to save the picture, they can separate the back fold and have a flat picture. I think the flat option is more popular because it's less expensive. Shutterfly has a selection of folded cards...although they also have a lot more flat cards too. Shutterfly Folded Cards

I send flat photo cards from Costco. I do write a personal message on the back, though. Doesn't feel right to send only a preprinted greeting.
Most of my family and friends send flat cards. I hang them on ribbons, clothesline style.
